Saul babbles on.... talk and talk with no useful information. Saul is back on track to talking with no purpose but to say that he held another meeting.

Slashing consultants? Please. I know of a manager who moved a favorite contractor from one task over to an MRA related task so the manager could try to justify keeping the consultant.
@xfh+16FORPII
They're slashing consultants dip$hit.
@nk, he did say managers in October? I missed that
@1f, i agree with you and what he said is fair too; i mean people need to be accountable and driven to meet their goals to learn in their field, they cannot be dragged. They are the one's brining the company down.
Sauls words were fair.
Does anyone know what determines who's "not able to be upskilled"? Sounds like jobs that used to be called BSCs, tech relationship managers, initiative and strategy might be the intended targets.
I thought that it was a good meeting and that Saul was very straight forward as to what is to come in the future. Giving people a little time to plan ahead for all of the changes that will be occurring.
He said some Managers will be cut and people who cannot be "up skilled" will also be cut. Goal is to have most people be technical "engineering" types in the next few years.
Yeah - my bad, mea culpa says @OP. It was a slow opening by Saul Shakespeare - the opening soliloquy on D&I was a curveball. Also not helping Saul the (Not) Great Communicator: the c-ap audio and the Dutch accent that waxes and wanes to distract from the few impactful things he does manage to say.
Yes, Saul did confirm layoffs in October.
And also yes, he did babble about nothing for most of the call.
If you pay attention and listen very carefully, you will be able to actually hear your own IQ drop a point or two every call.
@OP, you should really try paying attention.
put your best feet forward, boys
i WAS HOPING FOR AN EARLY RETIREMENT OFFER. BUMMER.
He also pretty much confirmed that they’re not going to offer voluntary layoffs or early retirement- as an oc member I would say that’s likely in line with company direction.
Layoffs will probably continue well into 2021...October 2020 is just one of them.
Yup Layoffs in a October and no compensation for working from home, No BYOD compensation and no Laptop compensation when they get thin clients.
Oh nice, now I get to use my own computer to wfh.. and my own phone.. maybe they’ll switch me to a consultant at $400/hr lol
I think we all suspect it is not just managers. They just don’t want people jumping ship in droves until they fire us. They say lay-off but it is firing you. Just got necessarily justified. Let’s be real.
When SVB started his candor was a breath of fresh air. After a short time he, too, has started toeing the corporate line. The meetings are now like reading Teamworks.
No one said there wouldn’t be any other layoffs but he did specifically confirm managers in October
From Saul's mouth - "if you don't want to use video, you don't have to!" I'm writing that one down.
Correction to OP– Saul did slip in some actual news.
Don’t be fooled, layoffs in Technology have already started (Rubina, etc); and, October layoffs will NOT be limited to Managers.
Bro, those are some serious Euro-Nerd glasses - Dutch boy be stylin'
Well he did at least confirm layoffs of managers in October..
Bad a$$ glasses though!
