Just got a gem of a note from my manager stating that my team isn't using AI tools enough. Based on the "latest reports" we're lacking compared to other teams. Apparently our usage is getting monitored now. Oh joy. Copilot is practically unusable but I guess we're supposed to train it to do our jobs.

Because the more you use it, the more you are proving you are unnecessary.
@w2 Please, tell us more about how awesome you are!
@rx It takes the right people to run the AI story and senior level technical leaders in the right positions with the right relationships. The wrong people are in the wrong positions here and we have a bunch of non skilled amateurs dabbling with AI while persons like myself are using AI and run rings around these people with or without it. Being a software company, yes we need to invest heavily into AI and should be cutting fat in places where it makes sense. We should be training capable people to run agent. This company is just incompetent from the top down. They have no idea what they're doing and there are very little people who even understand AI the way someone like myself does. They keep things silo'd off and there's already tons of duplicate efforts and conflicts, plus AI SLop all over the place due to their lack of understanding how this should acctually work and be governed. Just more technical debt that has to be dealt with later.
@bx You might be missing the point....AI is amazing. But have you considered maybe you are hand-feeding a lion raw meat?
@by haha!!!! Very creative
I've tokenmaxxing. Give it a cryptographic problem to solve it'll spin its wheels for the whole day
We're going to fix everything by adding AI... Another Indian.
@ba you have to be the d-mbest person if you can’t figure out how to use ai in 3 seconds.
Again, only older folks who are not tech savvy complain about AI.
Like watching them learn how to use a smart tv or their new iPhones.
@b8 Laughing at your last nonsensical sentence. ‘Love watching the 50-60 year olds complain cause they are tech savvy ‘. Did AI help you with that?
After Copilot was introduced, you could tell who was using it. The texts were mostly word salads. If the manager him/herself cannot provide guidance on how they would like the rank and file to use AI, the exercise is pointless and a waste of time. Yes, teams need training, but it should be guided and relevant.
Lmfao the people who hate AI are the old heads of the company who don’t know how to use it.. I’m with @ad on this one..
It’s like people hating on the internet because they don’t know how to use it.
Love watching the 50-60 year olds complain cause they are tech savvy

I love doing everything I can to throw off the AI - Malicious Compliance. If we made an organized effort we can really stick it to them
It's not unusable at all. You clearly need some help and I advise you join some of the AI Community of Practices or reach out to your neighbor teams. You have access to all the claude models and gpt through it. CopilotCli isn't terrible and you can get a lot done with it. If token limits are set on your account, you can have those lifted and advise you should. The problem is most teams need training and don't know where to begin. Not enough people are taking it upon themselves to be productive users either. There is now the Agentic AI Workflow that was just brought in. While it doesn't quite work for my department it can get you started with spec driven workflows, tying into MCP servers and learning how to modernize your workflows a bit including integrations to Confluence, Jira, and other tools Get involved, you're not training anything. You're not smart if you're not using AI, you could be making a lot more free time for yourself. This OP post is garbage.
