Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

What would happen??

Since all the headquarter is on her down voting everything... tell me what would happen if the retail channels went on strike?? What would happen if all of the sales channels went on strike?? Since none of you guys want to listen to the concerns clearly stated on this website. Try doing what we do in the retail store for 6 months but when you do do it from the middle of the summer through the holiday season.. deal with the short staffing, the micromanaging, the ignorance that walks in the stores while still trying to hit unrealistic goals!! Oh wait you can’t and you won’t because you don’t want to experience what retail and the sales side of Verizon deals with. Apparently you guys fail to understand if it wasn’t for the sales department you wouldn’t be able to enjoy your position.. you know you BS mon-Friday weekend and holiday off over privileged positions. You guys are so out of sync with what really happens at the front line you come up here and down vote everyone’s concerns. This proves the valid points that everyone is talking about up here about how none of you clearly care what we go through. Y’all are a bunch of hypocrites and Verizon is eventually going to fall if you don’t take care of the front line.

They plan on doing the sketchy retail tactic of working part timers 5 days a week for shorter shifts and pretending they are full time.

I’m curious how verizon thinks it’s going to get great productivity and attention from part-timers. They are here part time which means this is job is not a focus for them, but just something to fill the gap.

“Privileged” is a terrible word to describe this. That is “woke” mentality. Retail has the ability to move on to something beyond retail. If you are in retail for years upon years and do not like it, that is on you. Majority of the people working in VZ came from Retail. Maybe not the Sr. Leaders but a lot of of the consultant and analysts title are from retail. I wouldn’t worry so much about the latest iPhone, Jordans, or Lexus and use that time to apply out, get a title change. Do something different! The opportunities are there. The company is literally telling us that the business is changing. I haven’t been in a cell store in 5 years. Look at your own shopping habits. Those old timers will eventually stop coming to the stores and Express models will be the format! You can be part of the “privileged” too.

I would suggest that you organize a Verizon -wide retail walkout/strike. Then the company would:

  • Then fire everyone for non-performance of their duties.
  • Move all stores to indirect.
  • No longer have retail store issues or cost
  • Not have to pay severance.
  • Wind up exactly where they want to be anyway, just a little faster than they planned.

Laughable at the massive effort to suppress voice of the people. Can't even women up to your mistakes. Just have to roll with it and keep smiling.
