Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Hardly anyone tries to meet the metrics anymore

I got the impression that people here are trying less and less to meet the metrics and that they don't care as much as before about the consequences if they don't meet the metrics. Maybe I have the wrong perception? I gave up trying to meet the metrics because micromanagement really wore me out. My priority now is to look for other opportunities.

The only metric that matters to anyone anymore is the quota. F*ck the rest. It's every one for themselves now at this point.

Impossible to make money when your DM assigns impossible quotas to the stores he doesn’t like so if the attainment is unreachable why should us reps bust our as*** for scraps. Can’t make 100% off quota so why would I even be motivated by a kicker, awardperks, or a damn pizza party. Don’t worry I’ll just be sitting on stand by for a video call that I can’t assist while management team tries to elevate me, bs.

If people put in 60% of what Hans does everyday the stock would be 100 dollars a share!

Yep, don’t care. I can meet 80% of them without trying. The other 20% is either worthless or it is a metric designed to make sure you can’t meet it as it clashes with actual policy or day to day expectations of customers. That puts me at a performing. The STI bonus to be exceeding is not worth the effort. Plus just went through the new behavioral PA requirement training. Its so subjective and stupid. Just do your job, brownnose a bit and you should be fine until the hatchet man or the chainsaw finds a way to send your job overseas.

Yes the absurd amount of metrics and micromanaging is weighing on us all heavily.
