They'll probably make more unethical secretaries with no education into unethical project managers (still secretaries) but give them 120k+ to use powerpoint and do nothing mostly. Seems to be a popular thing in the most northern of north american hubs.

On Reddit these office workers discuss their value! Actual office quotes:

"... had an office job where I worked 5 mins if that and just looked busy the rest of the time, listened to podcasts all daywork from home. I am currently playing the Sims"

"It's mentally exhausting sitting and doing nothing for hours. You can only refresh your emails so many times.
" I spend a lot of my day at my desk doing nothing productive"
"Office worker here: I spend probably 2 hours a day with focused work. The rest is me trying to hide"
" We're all definitely just fu--ing off."
"It astounds me how little we do in the office after having a very demanding job for so long. I would literally nap for hours of the day because I had nothing to do."
"...tech company and most of the times i only have hour and an half job"
"Spent most of the day messing around on my phone."
"avg office worker works like 3 hours a day max. having to look busy"
"literally do not do sh-t most days"
"contract role at a large company and literally did nothing, would actually ask for work, and they would get mad if I did
anything on the computer so my days were composed of sitting at my desk or walking around the office"
"Most of corporate work is just passing along information or pretending to be busy"
"When I worked in the office I would just read books on my computer. Then I figured out I could boot football manager from a USB stick and that took up a lot of my time from then on."
"spent 3 days just making family photo albums online."

And importantly - "...bogus PMs posting about how important their job is - if they all vanished tomorrow projects would move faster."

Sounds like the transitions to AI are smart moves tbh.

G2's appointment, is the death of Cisco. It is now only a matter of time before the hammer falls. The man is a clueless con-artist. It is terrifying this fool is in charge of EN and security.

she already gave her word that we will be hybrid going forward.

when CR is gone and G2/GS are running things, expect a new playbook

who knows what the future holds, but it is very clear that G2/GS see Cisco being very different in the future

I assume it is a commonly held view in C-level meetings that WFH is a key aspect of dismal employee performance at Cisco

@qxt+1vrPgyRQ Quite the opposite, expect H1B’s to double from the 2024 numbers. Mr Musk and his tech bros will heavily influence this

Mandatory RTO means Fran has to be fired - she already gave her word that we will be hybrid going forward.

Worse still Chuck has committed to giving buildings away.

Only way RTO works is move even more jobs to cheap locations and enforce RTO there - aka remove jobs from US.

Maybe it’s time to call Uncle Trump’s attention to Chuck and Fran are losing American jobs and are not Making America Great Again.

New formula for LR will be determined :

Mandatory RTO and management will be forced to enforce this policy or their employment status will be affected.

"G2 was recently quoted as saying"

Whatever words come out of that con artist's mouth are worthless. He's just as clueless as all his predecessors. Remember, this is the fool who begged in public for everyone to sell his products. His last all hands was a travesty where he asked for more time to come up with a plan. He's truly the man without a clue.

who knows when, but I assume Cisco will also do an RTO announcement eventually

lots of companies watching it play out at Amazon and just waiting to play follow-the-leader

G2 was recently quoted as saying Cisco will look radically different by next summer, I very much doubt that means a hiring spree

RTO will be useful to get a few more thousand out the door and will be an incredible rug pull on so many remote employees

There will be no announcement this week.

It looks like three out of four don't know that Cisco's conference call announcing the Q1FY2025 financial results is to be held on November 13, 2024.

There will be no announcement this week.
The layoff announced in the last Quarterly result has not finished. Its still going on in different parts of the world.
There will be stealth layoff in the next 3 to 4 quarters. 300 to 500 every quarter spread across the world. This is to accommodate AI

There is a new 6000 seat facility inaugurated to seat 6000 AIs in the indian city of Pune
A similar one of AI is being planned in the indian city of Hyderabad.
Given the Bangalore compass has 20,000 AI seats. Half of Cisco will operate with AI's
You guessed it right the meaning of AI in cisco is Anonymous Indian.

No layoff announcements this week - that would be 3 in 2024 and just make leadership look as disconnected from truth as they really are. So they will absorb the costs until February and hopefully people will forget and we can start a new round!!!

@wph not sure in this qtr but earnings will be down and they may say we need more restructuring to be competitive. Which we all know what that means

Is there any reason why we should worry about potential layoffs?
