Why is their so much background noise on your calls? It sounds like you are working in a restaurant or a day care most of the time. Seriously though, why can’t you be more professional with the time on calls and reduce that background noise?

The noise is reflective of long-term well documented hearing damage as a result of curry OD. To compensate, everything needs to be louder...screaming, radios, tv, etc.
When I'm on calls with India peers, there is this really loud hum/buzz that makes it even harder to understand what they are saying. I can usually parse through a heavy accent, but I have to actually hear the words they say. The hum drowns out most of the words it's frustrating.
Sounds like a healthy work-life balance to me. Good for them.
Bob in Minnesota is having a hard time accepting he has been sitting on his fat behind, doing a cushy job that was redundant long ago. Bob knows he has nothing special to contribute in the company and part of him, deep down, is wishing to get a spanking by that Indian in Bangalore.
30% of my team is in India.
They are great. It's late at night for them and they join in meetings. They get assigned work and they do it.
Now, I have had completely different experiences on other teams.
Like US employees, some su-k and some are good.
Likely WFH for rain. Walls in those homes are incredibly thin.

Clearly you have never been to a WF India office. They are much nicer buildings than some of the US site locations, for sure.
They’re packed shoulder to shoulder in huge warehouses with terrible acoustics. What do you expect?
My take on the India situation. Either management knows this is setting "the firm" up to fail and doesn't care (aka its being planned) or they are too ignorant to figure it out.
No offense to the Indian folks. They need jobs just like we do, but the majority do NOT have the work ethic US folks do. When its time for them to be done, they are DONE. They won't stay a single minute longer.
If they have to go off script, God help you. They are only willing to do exactly what is specifically told and won't think for themselves. Granted this is not everyone but sure seems the majority based on my experience.
Really su-ks WF is taking jobs away from Americans and handing them out to people who don't give 2 shites.
I disconnect from meetings where call quality is bad. So be it.
We all work from home. No RTO. FRTO.
Why don’t you make that point on the call you are on?
This 1000 times
They're getting in-office efficiencies.
