It is hard to be committed to your job, act like an owner, and be vested in your company when your company isn’t vested in you.

This site is literally loaded with people who still care. They were shell shocked when they were run out after years of caring. They still mourn the company for which they loved to work.
Recognize caring as a huge, earned asset. Treat it as valuable as any asset the company has.
follett failed. follett failed to understand its real strengths. follett was foolish. Drunkin' foolish!

Yep. Store Manager for 15 years, I rode into the sunset earlier this year. I LOVED my job but now I’m finding that I love working elsewhere. Be your own hero and find a way out!

Former SM here. Left earlier in the year. Found out that the new SM they hired is making $8k more a year than when I left.

Don't get me wrong, it's good for this person that they're making more and it's good that Follett realized they need to increase the starting pay to find candidates. But what about the long term employees? Did any current SMs get a $8k a year raise to match what new SMs are getting? I'm guessing not.

So, let's read the tea leaves. Jefferson River Capital LLC probably has a plan to divest itself of non profitable stores - or all stores as a non viable business. Lots of positive PR and happy happy to make the deal looks sweet.
Oh well.

Store manager here- I’m beyond fed up. I’m leaving as soon as I can find something better. We have zero support except for other store managers.

Store managers are leaving all over the company and the current staff left in those stores are struggling esp when the regionals aren't stepping up to help and the support staff are id--ts.

@wll+1iweeY93 - I would have to agree. Being held to standards that we do not have the tools to achieve is getting old.
