Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

We need an UNION ASAP in South Florida, Please help us!!!

Things here are getting out of control and we need these managers to work for us.
Please anyone from a Union member come to our store or parking lot, I spoke with several of my coworkers and they would like to Unionize and get protection from these abusive leaders. We have reported them to HR and nothing has been done.

retail reps should be paid $20 per hour in line with best buy and starbucks workers. you guys are pushing unwanted insurance and additional lines, not building the 5g network.

$32 an hour for a low skill job? no wonder the company is trying to get rid of these overpaid workers!

@whw+1fM5C1Am Point me in the direction where I can make $32 + an hour being a fast food worker. Yes that is what I will average this year hourly plus monthly commission. Also make no mistake that is a mindless job but physically more demanding then a retail sales rep so I will take my job over that any day.

cellular retail rep used to be a great job but the business has changed and the company needs to change with it. i feel bad for the retail reps but accept reality and take your skills and move on. complaining about treatment and commissions will not help. your position is on the same level as fast food worker at this point! get out!

Brooklyn and those other union stores in that district are better off having one. They have one of the shadiest DM’s ever. Lord knows what type of cr-p he would be getting away with without a union.

what magic do you actually expect a union to do at a verizon retail store that will make youre life better?

Although they have closed stores that became union several still exist and are not closing or converting anytime soon. Like someone else said it would be good to bring in a union out of spite more then anything else. I agree they don’t offer much help and take dues each paycheck but I don’t mind that at all. It will make a strong point if nothing else.

If you think this will do anything to a company this size you are a fool. You may think, I’m going sc--w them over but they will just do what they got to do and keep moving forward. Best thing to do is just leave. They get hit harder by being short staffed.

Lol you have been misled my friend. Unions won’t do cr-p but take your money. I’ve been in a unionized company and it was the worst experience ever. All they did was take your dues directly from your check. Stop being so selfish by trying to ruin everyones career and go somewhere else if you aren’t happy.

If it costs Verizon more money, fu-k them. I didn’t get any pay increase this year. What’s the worst that can happen?

Verizon seems to be so scared of unionizing, it makes me think we should entertain the idea. We are doing the work of 3x the reps in my store with more responsibilities than ever before and no increase in pay.
