Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

STI and giving notice

Does anyone know if it is true that if you work through the end of the year, but have given your 2 weeks and are not employed by VZ in March do you still get your bonus?

It's true, be on books until 12/31. Had a coworker give notice to HR in December before talking to mgr. Mgr, who cared for his team members, then did everything he could to have notice withdrawn from HR & updated to 12/31 so team member would still get STI.

@wdr+18j01Y4H is correct. If you are active on 12/31, you will receive your bonus in February, as usual. This rule doesn't apply to retirements or layoffs. Under those scenarios you would receive a prorated award when you leave paid at a lower target but without the company modifier. LTI is a different story. If you leave voluntarily, you forfeit LTI.

Not sure about Verizon but in previous company I have received my bonus even six month after resigning . Company suppose to give you your bonus because it is for completed year when you were still employee

No you would forfeit the bonus because your no longer on Payroll. Just like the stock together program. Or even commission checks in some cases. You can call payroll though to confirm

It is true. As long as you are an active employee through 12/31, you are entitled to the STI bonus.
