Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

@10r it was the comments about sending back infinity Indians who are in the States. That’s racism, but you know that because it’s so obvious that you don’t like them.

So if you don’t want the labor pool expanded to infinity so that your earning power is dramatically devalued you’re a racist now?

Ignorance is not an excuse for racism. I've noticed that a number of comments in different threads are either overtly racist or are racist coded.

Its interesting, because for all the whining about how good TIAA was, the so-called values that were championed by the company and its employees seems to have been at best, a mask. Evidently, that mask was all smoke and mirrors (word salad).

Back to shipping jobs off to India: its not just India, its China, Mexico, Viet Nam, etc. Its all about reducing expenses and increasing profits. Its Capitalism and we're all just cogs in that wheel.

Please don't conflate the two, they are very different things.

When American Corporations decide to turn their back on their very own citizens in their very own country, in favor of Indians in India for cheap labor, at 50% of the productivity, that is one definition of racism. Racism cuts both ways. Multiple definitions. It is wrong, immoral, unethical, and overtly bias to favor the Indian race & Indians over your own citizens who make this company & country what it is today.

Exit Question: As Americans, are you ok with TIAA shipping your job oversees to India ?

@vj corporate America loves cheap labor. AI or a third-world country it doesn’t matter where it goes. It still doesn’t excuse your racism. Too bad the “America First” guy doesn’t tax the heck out of companies sending jobs overseas. It’s a don’t hate the player, hate the game kind of thing. You might be better focusing your anger where it belongs. It’s our corporate overlords who hold TIAA GC employees to lower standards and who are ok with their subpar work. This is also another reason not to bust your butt for a company that really doesn’t care about you or your family. That’s right it’s all about the participants ha ha ha. Who cares if people are coffee badgers. They are working the system just like Corp America is doing to all of us.

@tw if you are an American working in the US and the corporation fires you, and decides to move your job to India, you are ok with that approach ? Yes or No ?

Thanks to all the coffee badgers who think it's an imposition to show up in person for work when and where the company paying your salary tells you. I'm sure that makes their decision to send jobs to India that much easier.

If TIAA is dead set on employing infinity Indians can they send the ones over here back at least…sick of it

According to company financial filings, TIAA spent $150 Million last year in India with Accentures & various other entities there, and $170M in 2024. According to most insiders, the results no where near the spend by a large margin as client defections continue & the focus now turns from recordkeeping & customer service to financing the $14B needed to pay for the Schroders deal. As priorities shift, layoffs will continue to accelerate & RKT will no play second fiddle as Nuveen attempts to compete & keep us with Blackrock & Vanguard. Good luck.
