Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Daytona Beach Branch Unionized

Congrats! Keep the momentum going! Strength in numbers. The more the branches pull together and unionize, the more power they will have. Better pay! Guaranteed breaks! Better benefits! More staffing!

You're reading about unions on a layoff website.

Think about that when you read the PR and WF trolls saying unions are bad.

WF and all the rest have trade groups and lobbyists but oh noes the people doing the actual work should just be grateful they have a job.

Unions are not perfect, you need to pay attention, but they're a voice speaking for you against Wall Street greed..

Anti-union trolls on a layoff website...LOL.

@goe just to clarify your argument. You're stating that doing nothing and dealing with how awful working here is, is better than doing something to potentially gain an improvement in working conditions and potentially a larger financial reward a couple of years in the future?

Hmmmm, tough choice.

You will be paying dues from month two or three and then waiting forever for collective bargaining which means you can also lose benefits or not get merit raises as the union negotiated everything for you. Bunion dues aren’t cheap so you start paying out of pocket now and maybe get something in two years. Sounds like a good trade (not).

I’m for anything that reveals Charlie as the POS that he is. Wells Fargo is the first major bank to have branches unionize and, whether we approve or disapprove, it is 100% egg on Charlie’s face. I hope many more WF branches vote to unionize - enough that regulators and shareholders start asking deeper questions.

@vmq+1qxKxdq8 LOL. Keep on grasping. I’m not losing anything over being here but not being in a Union.

You need to go into stand up. Equating anything of late (and especially chump change WF) with the UAW is pure comedy gold. And if the auto workers contracts are your litmus test you don’t hold much value in yourself so I guess you wou personally be better off at the teet of a Union.

I'm not pro union. That said, that evil POS Shart does not want to be known as they guy that's such an insufferable azz that his employees unionize. He's trying to build a rep as a "turn around CEO" and no one will ever think that again if this union thing gains steam. Considering all the domestic employees are headed to extinction anyway, at least we can exact some measure of revenge upon the loser that destroyed the company.

Vote 4-1

Copied from an article on the topic

"Recent unionization campaigns across the U.S. have led to tense showdowns between employees and corporate behemoths. Lucrative deals clinched by unions such as the United Auto Workers, which secured record pay hikes for employees, have bolstered unionization efforts."

@bzg+1qxKxdq8. Tell me YOU don't understand how unions work without telling me YOU don't understand how unions work

I wonder if that’s gonna show up on Teamworks like the one that did not go forward.

Interested to see how this shakes out.
My guess is more branch closures in pro union areas.

“ Better pay! Guaranteed breaks! Better benefits! More staffing!”

Tell me you don’t understand how unions work without telling me you don’t understand how unions work.

Don’t believe me? Go research how those unionized Amazon and Starbucks locations are going. Look at how many years it’s been with literally no change, never mind the fact that there haven’t even been conversations at the bargaining table.

A Union today will do nothing to help anyone employed at Wells for the next decade. If your next argument is “setting the ground work for the future!!!” then the previous war cry of “we’re sticking it to CS/The Man by Unionizing” is a false flag at best. Wasting your time because all of this leadership will be gone.

But waste that energy on what you hate instead of figuring out what you love.
