Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Phase 3 - FY25 Q2

Phase 3 may occur if not enough people leave on their own in Q4 or FY25 Q1.

If you’re considering leaving, please leave so a phase 3 doesn’t have to happen.

Prediction… phase 3 will be announced during the Q4 earnings call. They will leverage the annual review cycle to ensure there are a sufficient number of low performers calibrated. Then they will do what all the other companies are doing by saying they’re laying off “low performers”. HR will have to scramble the next couple of months to make this happen. Watch your back.

There is going to be a layoff soon, retail sales are not going to be great with all these competitors. Stock price and profits dictates upper management to make these decisions. Bottom line is their bonuses. The easy way to cut cost is by eliminating positions. Middle mgmt is horrible to work with

There will be “clean up” reports after this going into October, but nothing on this scale. Clean up reorgs can impact like 10-20 people on org of 500. Usually it’s people placed somewhere they’re understaffed short term or basically an opportunity for that said person to prove themselves.

There are NOT going to be any more phases to this layoff. There could be some "mini" layoffs, especially in geos, as things settle, but no more big phases like this....at least for another 2-3 years

@utv+1schYnPV part of the problem is that people like JD have gotten into the company to feed off of the power of the brand, not to build it further. That's why no innovation, no leadership, no connection to the athlete. There are too many "leaders" there just to su-k what they can out of what was built and none of them, JD foremost, understand what Nike is.

Completely and utterly full of sh-t. We don’t know what the future holds, but there are no further phases planned right now other than what’s been communicated.

There will be a phase 3, 4, 5…The brand is in trouble. Nike isn’t cool anymore & competition is eating its lunch. The company boomed on the power of its brand. Now that the bo-m is over the terrible & growth has slowed you are all doomed.
