Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Are we, though?

AT&T: Back On The Right Track

  • AT&T, a former dividend aristocrat, cut its dividend in 2022 after announcing a spin-off.
  • The dividend cut was necessary for the company to continue its path to growth and free up capital.
  • AT&T has been taking steps to improve its position and is worth considering for investment.
  • Due to expected slower growth in 1H of '24 and the restart of student loan repayments, AT&T could see a decline in phone net adds over the next few quarters.
  • I believe investors with a long-term outlook get almost 70% upside to its high price target.

By 2025, T will be a stock market favorite again since we will be so much leaner and in much better financial standing.

this is spot on!

"Investors will recognize this narrative as it's virtually identical to the one that led CenturyLink from a $17 stock price to $1.50. Good luck to employees, I wish I could tell you that the future is bright."

I would never buy att stock until there is a change on the board and leadership. the last 10 to 20 years they have destroyed companies and their own company.

why would any sane investor buy att looking at the what they have done.

att has had zero innovation. oh yeah unless you count uam you know the rewrite of ldap so it is super secret secure.

att are legends in their own mind.

To the OP of
“I have no issues with the track we are on now. It’s just too bad we went down the 100 billion dollar entertainment dead end first.”

You must still have a job at T. Post again when your chair is empty. Many talented people have been let go and IMO only the slackers waiting for their luck to run out remain.

John’s leadership is making a difference.

Pray tell how? Do you somehow believe the shovel he used to get AT&T into the deep hole it is in, will be the same shovel he uses to fill in the hole?

We cut the company then we cut the dividend. The smart business people here should understand.

“ AT&T has pegged the employee misery index needle. ”

Let me fix that sentence for you: AT&T has pegged the employees.

I haven't seen a plan roll out in 2 years that made any sense and can't get an answer on the ones that seem id--tic.
We are supposed to do our job and not ask questions. I don't get it. We are headed into the abyss.

Shocking level of debt @T, almost on the order of magnitude of our National Debt (which is still exponentially growing every minute of the day)

Both are unsustainable in the long run.

Stankey would not qualify for an entry level management job at any other company.
He has firmly established a horrible track record while employed at at&t. The award for worst CEO ever would be a toss up between him and Stephenson, both big time losers. Anytime either of them go out they are treated like the lepers they are by the business community.

AT&T has pegged the employee misery index needle. I honestly don't think it's possible for any group of employees anywhere to despise a company any more than at&t employees do. All thanks to a miserable CEO that treats employees like yesterday's trash. Stankey is an absolute mo--n, the sooner he's gone the better for everyone.

We are so far OFF the track!

AT&T can’t even FIND the track!

The train has already left the station and the remainder of the track is GONE!

"We have. Long way to go, but under John’s leadership we are on the right track. The company will have a much stronger foundation and fincancial position within the next 2-3 years."

Under John's leadership???? You have got to be kidding.
Yeah, sure, this company will be awesome with employees that no longer care about it. I am one of many who would always go the extra mile. No more. John has single-handedly thrown employee morale in the TANK. Enlighten me, how would a company be on the right track with employees that are so unhappy and blatantly show it?

Nobody ever wants to talk about the pink elephant in the living room, debt of $140B. That's billion with a B my friend. I can only laugh when I read or hear how wonderfully at&t is doing!
