Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

If I was PK, I would..

Cut the management layer by 30% atleast. You wouldn't notice a thing, if anything things will get better, faster more efficient.
Bring back all workers to office 5 days a week. If you want to be remote you better be some Rockstar IC that can't be replaced.
Shut down Bay area. If you think Nike can compete with FAANG for talent in bay area you are out of your mind. We cannot get top talent in these outposts.

'None of you are PK or have any real power to do anything. Be happy with whatever you do at Nike because if you were any good, you would have left already.'

And yet here you are, trolling the Nike Layoff board on a 4th-tier gossip site. Girl, 10/10 for dedication to your inferiority complex. 2/10 for choice of audience & burn delivery. I guess if you could do better, tho, you wouldn't be here.

If you were PK you’d be plotting on how to get Oregon a Republican governor. It is his only wish before he kicks the bucket. That, and more money.

If I was PK I would not be on this board and be somewhere spending my billions on fun stuff. Now go back to work and make uncle Phil some more $$.

Nike Tech was messed up even before Kohls people showed up. Get over it.

None of you are PK or have any real power to do anything. Be happy with whatever you do at Nike because if you were any good, you would have left already.

If I was PK I would fire the lot of these clowns making my stock go down. Then I would donate mega money to Oregon and go watch Oregon play big ten football. That may or may not go well. Lots of money is needed thereby the replacement of leadership to get back to growth from cost cutting mentality.

You must have one of those roles that works 8-5, Mon-Fri and enjoy the weekend work free. That isn't the reality for many at Nike or other companies. Many of us support different timezones and processes that are 24/7. We just got down to 50hrs/wk with Hybrid/WFH and already creeping back up towards 60hrs/wk with RTO.
As for managers, there's good and bad at every level. The ones not managing KPIs are the issue and should be dealt with. We have people managing up to 30 people and we're drowning so you must work in the corner of the business that is the part of the problem.

@uer+1r13xghk Nike is a step up from Kohls. Kohls has been circling the drain for a while. It is the next Kmart/Sears/JC Pennys. Bay Area has Target and Walmart offices, but the Kohls people didn't end up there. Why not? Because Target and Walmart are a step up from Kohls, and these people can't get into any place without RAT and his crew dragging them along.

Agree that Nike can't compete with FAANG. We got Kohls "talent" instead and paid an arm and a leg for it. Believe me, if these Kohls people could get a job at a FAANG, they would grabbed that opportunity. Instead, they had to settle on Nike. They couldn't even get into Nike on their own. They had to rely on cronyism to get their overinflated positions, which is why so many of them are so bad. Lay them off, and see where they end up. We don't need them here.
