Residential Area Recommendations in Dallas

What are some of the more popular residential areas with good schools in Dallas? Sorry if this has been asked before. I didn’t find much in the archive.

You want to move to Allen, period. Allen is just north of Dallas.
East, South and West are pretty sketchy.

Leave a tip at the door please.

Dallas is a great city. Very metropolitan. Good restaurants, sports and cultural arts.

Do not move to Texas. The COLA is very high here due to people from CA and NY moving here during 2020/2021

You are correct, citizens on the border are being overrun with an invasion from all over the world. We need new leadership at the commander-in-chief position. His most important and sworn duty is to protect the country. Not happening, needs to be a layoff this November. Return those who aren’t deemed legal or justified for aslyum. It’s overwhelming our support systems including schools. The teachers are stressed and quitting in large numbers.

Plano is good. Frisco has too many. Go north of Frisco and the commute to Dallas is ridiculous. Leave before 6:15am to arrive in office by 7:15am. If you leave after 3pm it will take 2 hours up 75. Maybe a little less up the tollway but will be paying an arm and a leg in tolls. South Dallas is like another world. East Dallas out Rt. 30 like Rockwell is way built up with one way in or out. Might have to pay a lot to live close. Probably close to $1M for 4 bedroom in decent community.

Texas schools are overrun with non-citizen children. Overcrowded, teachers have burned out and there is no structure. School systems are now just poorly run daycares.

The further you live from downtown the better the quality of life , but the longer the commute.

Ideally having your kid in a private/charter school is the best and safest outcome but is not a realistic option for the majority.

If you have a family most of you moving will end up divorced and broke.

But remember “YOU matter”.

You can thank the current national administration for that, previous administration had the illegal element nearly stopped. Legal immigration is good for all. There needs to be a layoff for those complicit in dereliction of duty.

Texas is a different state now with the record high unchecked immigration or free release in country, after capture. Schools are an issue so, do your research if you have any students.

Forney/crandall/sunnyvale
More bang for your buck! But it’s country. But they are trying to build, it’s just going to be 5-10 years before it becomes a true city in my mind and before you can stop commuting to Dallas or other areas for things/stores. There’s no tolls into Dallas.

Sunnyvale is expensive. Forney has nice houses for under $400K (talking 4 bed 3 bath) in nice neighborhoods. If you buy now you'll avoid the significantly higher prices in 3-5 years.

There are zero good schools in Texas, that’s how it became Texas.
If ur a drunk like most AT&T employees live close to the bar it saves u from the Texas PoPo .

Higher priced, frisco/planno.
Mid priced McKinney area
Both are LONG commutes and HIGH toll pays but areas are developed and want for nothing.

Traffic? Traffic is EVERYWHERE but I think it’s way worse headed north frisco/plano/mckinney area.

Please don't move for this company. They've had no problem laying people off a year after they moved and that was when they paid the relocation.

That’s ok, there isn’t any infomoration on it because you are the only one who is even considering the move.

Let me guess, you under 40 with less than 20 years of service and no kids.

There are many good areas to live in Dallas. It really depends on how much time you want to spend commuting and how much house you can afford.
North Dallas is the obvious choice with kids- Frisco, McKinney, Prosper, etc.
All are good suburbs with good schools. But if you have to commute to downtown it’ll easily be at least an hour each way.
