It is a good offer, about a years pay and a little more for healthcare (just what the company portion would be for 6 months). I doubt I will ever get the chance again. Why risk trying to stay when I could be fired when the merger is over (rhetorical). I have always been a high performer and felt that I would be needed, at least until the merger was done. Obviously, higher ups don't feel that way. They really don't have a clue. This is going to be a historic failure. It is a relief to know that I won't have to put up with the the clueless senior leadership much longer.

Regarding @uat+1bvh6HZN's comment, it won't take the public being concerned to matter to Kelly and the executive management team. Look at Walmart and Amazon --- two companies who treat their employees terribly but the public generally doesn't care. What will matter is when shareholders finally catch on. The merger is a mess and these two companies have wildly different cultures. That's costly to the bottom line and shareholder's returns. I got rid of all of my stock and I highly recommend that all of us "insiders" do the same thing before Wall Street figures it out and the stock takes the real beating that it deserves.
Bank the cash and immediately go and get another job.
Congrats!! Truist is polar opposite from the organization we all joined, and this is a management team that doesn’t deserve good people. Once you are out, the best thing we all can do to help our friends still at Truist is to make sure people on the outside understand the truth about this Truist executive team. I honestly believe if the public truly understood how callously this management team treats its employees, there would finally be pressure to change. Until then, all they hear is Kelly promising them that everyone is getting along better than he ever could have ever hoped.

That's a heck of deal to get this merger off your back. I tried to negotiate my own lay off months back but my manager wouldn't go for it and picked someone else on the team instead. Consider yourself lucky. I decided to quit anyhow and I didn't get a sweet, sweet bonus for walking away.
