Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Exhaustion

I am so mentally and physically exhausted from this place, I can’t even sleep lately. Just tonight, I have now woken up twice with a crippling dread for everything here and to come. I’ve never tried so hard to tune out my thoughts and life to TV until now. This is not healthy. This is not normal.
To anyone else experiencing the same, I am sorry and you are not alone!

Sounds like a YOU problem to me.

Sure, we're in a layoff lull, but the environment is no less toxic.

I've been coming here for a few months now and it never seemed this bad before. Seems like the layoffs are further apart now and a lot of the commentary is filler. Give people a voice and they will inevitably use it, sometimes positive but often times negatively. Human nature I guess.

OP, that's what you get for being an over-achiever, trying to push for "exceeds" all the time. I am your average "meets" team member and taking it easy, but making sure I don't fall off to Needs Improvement bucket. I enjoy my relaxed pace and sleep well at night. Time for you to take it easy!

Other companies rumor boards are not like WF.

Yes, there are other bad comanies, but this one seems to be special.

I left a few months ago for more money and so far a better environment.

I've checked on my new employers layoff pages, and then for fun a few of my previous employers, and they're no where near as negative as WF.

It's not even close.

So based on my admittedly anecdotal evidence, the problem is WF, not you.

I stayed to long.

Stay safe everyone.

So now it's a pity party where everyone else is the problem and you're the victim? If you're exhausted, take some PTO and lay on a beach or whatever floats your boat. Like many others have said, these whiny posts have just gotten old.

OP again..
All 15 years have not been miserable, but again, go about your assumptions. Whatever helps others cope and justify things, have at it.

Back to the original intent of this post- I empathize with all of you in the same boat and wish you the best to come in whatever path you take from here.

@irz+1cbLYOZY, feel free to ignore entire threads. If you can't muster even an ounce of empathy, we all could probably do without your input.

So we're not touchy feely enough? Sorry but all this woe is me stuff gets pretty boring after a while. WF is a job not a jail. You get to leave whenever you like.

So after 15 years you are still here. Yet you can complain exhaustion to the point it is affecting your health

Doesn’t add up…Why are you putting yourself through this “he-l” for 15 years.

Based on your own words you are an exceeds who can perform your job efficiently and effectively…sounds like you should find another quite easily then. Yet here you are

If you are so valuable and such a high performer what’s been holding you back for 15 years from finding a new job that will make you happy

My BS meter is through the roof. You are not being honest with us or yourself.

Stop being a victim and start taking responsibility. It will change your life

"Yeah life was probably easier when you got your participation trophy for 2 hours work a day." -- says the person who's on this board instead of working

Maybe people are just tired of the entitled complainers who have no idea how good they really have it

These “woe is me” I am a victim posts from adults who have everything they need to solve their own problems are past path3t1c

OP here-
As an almost 15 year team member with an exceeds rating, I’d say I do perform my job efficiently and effectively and have earned far more than a participation trophy lol
Some of you are so quick to make assumptions.
Just because this place can suck the living life out of me does not mean the problems here are self inflicted.

Looking at some of these nasty responses, it makes me sad to think I actually might work with some of you.

@OP same. While I search for an external job I stopped giving 12 hours a day. I focus all my spare time on looking & applying for an external job. I know it is up to me to take charge of my career. And, sadly, after almost 25 years and WFH for last ~10, I will have to leave WF. I hope your situation improves and you get on a healthier path. You are not alone in the way you're feeling.

Dang. I go to bed around 10/10:30 and wake up at 6:30 with no interruptions. I sleep so great every night, it’s been wonderful the last few months.

I finally left Wells for a WFH job after 9 months searching and interviewing for the right job. I felt the same as what OP described for the past year and it was so relieved and freeing when I left. Stay positive and be persistent in your job search, best of luck everyone!

Hello OP, you are not alone . Many of us are going through this very thing. I am for god’s sake a manager of people at that. The bureaucracy is mind boggling . There are plenty of legacy practices that cannot be uprooted. The new wh-z kids who have just arrived do not have the experience or the guts to take on certain holy cows . It is just a matter of time before this band of new management gets replaced by the newest management. Under these circumstances you can be assured that things may only get worse in the foreseeable future. Rest assured you did not cause the turmoil. Nor can you avoid it. Please reconcile to the ground reality and get some sound sleep. We all need it.

Sounds like that is on you. Not on Wells Fargo

If you don’t know how to perform your job efficiently and effectively you should find a different one

"stop feeling sorry for yourself and get out ASAP then."

You don't know the OP's situation. He/she may already be weighing options, with none of them ideal. That's where I am.
