Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike is a company

Remember that maxim? It was an OG

But seriously Nike is a massive corporation that answers to Wall Street - layoffs are standard practice; if you allowed yourself to be brainwashed into thinking you mean more than just a number on a balance sheet I feel bad for you but I get it - it’s a top tier brand company for a reason, that said - please process your situation quickly and move on… Nike never has and never will care about your “18 years of service” or your “loyalty to the brand”

We all know, it’s a company, it’s a business. It doesn’t have to act this sh---y. That only comes from lack of strong leadership. But Nike has none for long time, almost 15-20 years now

its numbers on a P&L, if you where a number on the balance sheet you would keep your job.

@swa I wish all of that was true. But it isn’t. Share ownership is concentrated enough amongst wealthy interests that those interests will always have the last word. That isn’t a pleasant thought but it is reality. Likewise the electorate mostly sees itself as “millionaires whose ship hasn’t yet come in” so they are reluctant to vote for policies that would keep some of the greed in check.

Pretty sure OP is not a c suite - they signed the post “lulu fits better anyways” … hilarious and accurate

@swa - you need some de-programming; do yourself a favor a google the words “publicly traded company” and “stock price”

And I don’t care for them either, but they send me paychecks. I’ll keep producing work that feels deserving of my pay level, nothing less nothing more.
