We had our weekly team meeting today and our boss said only info she had what was on heartbeat she doesn’t know if or when our dept is affected and she said rarely has our dept ever been affected
@ssd+1uLQl2H4 Because, Some leaders did hold meetings with their teams after the layoffs happened in the department to announce that the layoffs for the department have happened , it is done and you are now 'safe'.
People aren't making that up. It depends on your leader.
At 4pm?
I don't know about all these folks saying they are going to be told they are safe. Last year leadership directly refused to ever state that layoffs were complete. We sat around for weeks waiting to be cut, stressed AF the whole time before we eventually just moved on. They never told us, even when directly asked, if there were more cuts coming.
Last year a meeting from AVP, Ex. Dir and targeting your full team meant anyone attending the meeting is safe and all layoffs under that leader have been completed.
Time to update your resume.
They'll tell those that have been chosen during their 1:1s, tell the rest that they're 'there' for them. Those that got the cut won't be at the all-team meeting. Hopefully no one gets cut, but if they do, that's the process. Good luck, I hope the best for you all.
It may be to tell you about layoffs that are happening in your department but not necessarily you. For example, they may have already had or are having the conversations with the ones getting laid off.
At this time, sudden 1:1 meeting is the last thing you want to have
You guys survived and they will let the team know that.
