100% going backwards into the office does nothing but keep the wheels of state sponsored corporate charity moving. Wells Fargo (as well as other financial companies) get insane tax breaks from state and local municipalities to office or headquarter in their cities and states. Those tax breaks ultimately trickle up in the form of increased executive executive and CEO compensation, not down to the rank and file to offset inflation and cost of living.
Work from home is ultimately a genie that can’t be put back in the bottle. All of the posturing pre Covid dissolved when what we were told wasn’t possible became possible overnight. Regardless of the amount of gaslighting about “collaboration”, at the end of the day it’s about leveraging toxic corporate real estate that’s outlived it’s usefulness in the modern world. RTO, and office work in general, belongs in a museum along with the stuffed shirts that refuse to admit that it’s had it’s day. Evolve or be left behind.🤷🏻
