Yes this is definitely happening. GO&S spilt up to Global Ops and Sustainability already. EMPS going to Global Ops in January. Upstream Operations will learn that resistance is futile and go to Global Ops by mid year ‘26…. It’s all in the goto/corporateoperatingmanual… Transformational CHANGE PEOPLE!!!
Hearing EMPS operations moves into existing Sustainability and Ops org. by year-end and that U/S will make decision on how to integrate by middle of next year, at earliest. But likely to be left alone for now.
I wonder of all these 20+ comments how many were from actual employees vs. trolls... I guess we are really doomed.

I love how people are talking sh*t about someone not knowing all the stupid acronyms. How about just type out the entire thing. It’s 2025 so your computer or phone will finish whatever word you are typing for the most part, so why type out something like EMPS?
True...with BTC expansion...upstream engineers is no longer relevant...BTC engineers can do everything...houston and kltc engineers is no longer needed...

@fv - there is no such thing as Exploration & Production. EMPS company is ExxonMobil Product Solutions. Upstream company includes Exploration and New Ventures, and then the Business Units for production.

@e6 good question- I think it’s ExxonMobil Exploration and Production (E&P). Not to be confused with Project Solutions… or Property Solutions. But I think if it was the latter, it would probably be reflected as E&PS because of the environmental (E) component of that organization, which sits in GSC: Global Services Company.
Doubt they’re putting the environmental and property folks with upstream. So maybe it is exploration & production; but isn’t that already upstream??
Sorry, not much help. But I did hear that E&PS was almost called P&ES but if you say that fast it sounds like male anatomy and NSFW. Can you imagine a townhall and hear them introduce the “head” of P&ES?
Now we know why those folks really get skrewed.
Good to know they think those things through. We can’t call the organization what we do to our people.
