I’m strangely ok with whatever comes my way next week. Laid off. I get severance and explore other opportunities. Yes my life changes but it always does. Nothing is forever or ever stays the same. Stay on. I stay and still have a job. Same pay. Same benefits. Probably work less and not give a f. What am I missing? Am I going crazy?

If you have any personal stuff in the office get it out today. Security or someone will steal it. You won’t get anything back except some stupid Nike service award.
Agreed - It could be a giant cluster.
Maybe a surrogate VP will do it, less of a blow if the group and the VP do not work with each other.
More of a transaction.
Either way, the decision has been made, no changing it now.
We will see what shakes out tomorrow.
I will say I know some folks that had a very hard time getting personal effects back - some of which actually got lost in the mix.
Add that this is on a grander scale and the recipe for mishaps will increase.

Ah this is for those axing us not us schmucks getting the boot.
In the past there was a group meeting via zoom sent out sunday eve for early monday AM
The VP then read from a script at 7:30am
Then the 15 min meetings started popping up almost immediatley for times ranging from 830 to 4
Group zoom? Also no, presidents day is not a company holiday
Is a new zoom set sent out every evening? Or do they do multiple days at a time?
Isn’t tomorrow presidents day and therefore we have it off?
If past history is any indication, it will be 730pm this evening that the group zoom is sent out.
I’m with this person. Is been a good run, I’m at peace with either outcome. Heck, I might even volunteer to take someone else’s spot if getting laid off means the end of the world to them 😬

Right attitude. It’s out of your control. Only other piece of advice if it happens…don’t sh—t the messenger. If you’re out —Just move to severance conversation and make that call as short as possible or you’ll stew over it for way longer than you need to…esp if the messenger is someone who barely knows you and says something stupid or your leader is cold as ice. You’ll have a chance to ask your questions in a follow up.

Yes. I am in the same boat. I am surprisingly calm because I know even if not next week, if not May, working at Swoosh or any other job is just a temporary situation. Change is part of life and nothing is forever and nothing is promised. So I am kind of cool with it. My fantasy is what If I get a job offer somewhere else and get laid off at Nike ai I can get my severance package! 😆
At this point I'd rather be laid off. Surviving this mess will be its own kind of he-l.

it's the right attitude. Frankly, I think the sheen of working for the Swoosh will wear off after this, even for the people still here to pick up the pieces of whatever/whoever is left. You're going to be overworked and under informed, always looking over your back to see if you've been stabbed instead of surrounded by your 'Nike family'. Sad.
Yeah. A couple of bo-g hits or a brownie and you can realize change happens, will happen, and you can fight or embrace it. Just go with the flow man and peace out ✌️
I kind of feel the same way. Sometimes this really scares me and then other times I think maybe not so bad.
