Seriously what other people do during their day? I have been with Nike for about 2 years now and it is very rare if I have a task to do... Like I just show up at work but my days have no agenda other than a handful of pointless meetings with no real outcome . Once in a while I am asked to fix something or order something .... 🤔

Here is an honest description of how I full my 8 hrs day... Seriously : beyween 1 to 3 hrs of useless meeting, 2 hrs lunch, one hour run with my manager around campus, staring at my laptop browsing Van or Workvivo and then going home. I am not kidding. I hate my job truly but I am also actively searching to get out of boredom at Nike
Those doing the long weeks, advocate for yourselves! This company does not care about you at all. They can hire more, instead of you working your butt off.
OP, just enjoy the paycheck. Find the nap room. Make fake meetings and go on walks. This company is chaotic and so unorganized.
I have worked in multiple departments in my 8 years career at Nike and I can tell you one common thing among those jobs: Wasting time to create BPs, workflows and guidelines (or whatever you name it) so that my boss can share something to his/her boss. And guess what, no one really give a sh*t about those documents even myself LOL
HR. specifically recruiting ,/ talent Acquisition. we barely do anything but we're also the first to go. our days are filled with meetings since no hiring is actually being done.
Posts like this make me upset. As @tor+1tI6dcPH said there are some of us at Nike who work long, long hours just to barely keep our heads above water. We have more work than can reasonably be expected of one person and many of us are maxed out on our PTO because we’re literally afraid to use it, knowing that more work will just pile up while we’re gone.
Where do some of you get these “I don’t actually have to do anything” jobs and why are you complaining about it? I’d love to be able to do nothing most of the week and get paid for it.
Nike needs to identify the people who don’t do anything and get rid of them. I know this place has a bunch of them too.
Well I can tell you that my days were packed before I was unceremoniously laid off in April. My coworkers who did nothing but plan daily lunch outings somehow still have jobs.

Pointless meetings? Sounds like you’re in my team or the same building. Nike Vapor Jet??
I’ve been swamped for decades here but have balanced out with my new manager the past few years. Busy every minute but no more 50hr plus weeks.
I hear of a lot of bored people and it really gets under my skin when many departments are too busy and cap out of PTO regularly.
What this tells me is that you have a cr-ppy boss with too much budget with a cool selling deck.
Sounds amazing on one hand. On the other… they’ve got the layoff consultants making lists again.
All I can suggest is that you start applying for another job if you’re truly doing nothing. Shave a month or two off your inevitable hunt while still being paid
I am in the same boat. Been here for 3 years next months and my days have no agenda. Paid 6 figure to attend pointless meeting all week . Meeting to prep for meetings with stake holder, meeting with stake holder, de brief with project manager and before we initiate any actionable thing, someone in higher up has paused or changed the project and this cycle repeat again.
I want your job 😄
@tor+1tI6dcPH Sure . I am in innovation NXT
You need to come into my space were me and my peers are working 60 hours a week and trying to stay afloat. People are legit getting burnt out. Or how about you tell me where you’re at and I can move into your department
You are not alone. You’ve described at least four people on my team, including myself. It’s all about getting butts in the seats, not about providing real work.
