More rumors about downsizing to 60 000 or less

If this is true, then it’s definitely time to look for other opportunities. I mean, if you haven’t started already. Not that the target number is shocking or anything. It’s all about dividends and bonuses for as long as there’s party. What will become of T, nobody cares. I have long since changed my mindset to my job here being temporary as in ‘can be terminated any moment’, and I plan accordingly.

If the numbers below, that someone reported in another post are true, then it should be easy to get to 60% of workforce.

"46% percent were less than 4 in office
34% between 4-8
20% 8 hours or more.”"

@1nzd+1vaH6HW6 why do you think Verizon has physical plant and no landlines? The core of their business is fiber and copper. Wireless is saturated.

“They are positioning it to be sold.”

No one wants the core telecom portion because no one wants to be and ILEC; they'd the the federal govt's bi--h. Wireless would spin off by itself fine. But the whole business of being required to provide service, and often providing service via steeply discounted CLECs.

att will keep going till the cashflow overwhelms the stock price and forces it up. if that means 20k, so be it

The positioning T to be sold rumors has been quietly gaining tractions for the past 12 months, I hear this from many people in different business units and roles. This will be Stanley's swan song as we sell off business units, and pivot away from mobility I as satellite-is the future-(hello starlink) no tower infrastructure to support or repair after a storm or fire, Fiber will have a longer shelf life as a product, but make no mistake by hiding your head in the sand, management is wanting to move away from mobility in the next 1-3years.

When I started in early 2007, we had 301,000 employees in 161 countries.

A mere shell of what the company once was.

It shows. Every aspect is worse for employees and customers are less satisfied than ever.

Stink from the Stank. Managing the decline.

Our conference lines can’t handle the amount of people on the layoff calls if we’re going to cut that deep.

How many bargained employees do we have?

Recent newsroom releases have said about 62,000. This pretty much agrees with sustainability data which gives total headcount as 149,900 with ~42% being bargained, which would be 62, 958ish. In that respect, we can't just compare T to the other carriers, bc they don't have all the physical stuff we do, like landlines.

Company cannot operate with 60,000. Verizon is at 108,000. The long term target is 115k for T. Stop listening to the id--ts saying 60 etc

If they get rid of every individual contributor manager, and therefore their managers due to span of control, this place will tank so fast. You can only outsource so much. I don’t care anymore. I’m ready to pivot away from this industry once they pay me to leave.
