Anyone know what the rules are for internal transfers. How long do you have to be in a role before you can ? How long after a promotion before you can ? This info doesn’t seem to be widely circulated.

I have gotten approval from managers before. Just ask and explain your reasons. Like you really need to get away from them
Anyone here ever actually gotten the approval from their manager to post for a new job under the 12 month requirement?
Listen to Tracy Kerrins latest AMA, she talks about promotions with no raise.
True, I had a screen a few weeks ago and the recruiter uses corp. speak to explain this change. No real reason to want to get promoted, which is nuts
OP here , wow I didn’t know that was the case. May not be worth applying then as I’m sure I wouldn’t get a bump. Crazy but thanks for info
Manager here, this is true, although they will do a review of your overall comp in January during the normal bonus/merit cycle. If you fall below some percentage, then you will get a bump. If not, none. It’s crazy and makes no sense. But true.
Internal candidates taking a higher level role through applying to open roles are no longer eligible for a base salary increase. Sign me up for more responsibilities with the same pay.
You can get approval with less than a year but I recommend posting out altogether
1 year for most roles. It asks you in the application if you have been in your current position for 1 year. Anything less has to be approved by your manager (good luck there). The rule is to discourage job hoppers which the firm is riddled with.
Widely circulated - like in a policy?
I believe if it's less than a year you can still post out as long as you have your manager approval
You have to be in your current role for 1 year before you can transfer to another
