Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I don't feel like it's over

I thought I'd feel some great relief once Wednesday was done, but I don't. There's still a knot in my stomach and a pressure in my chest and I still can't sleep. I can't trust anybody who says it's over because we've been burnt so many times. I know this isn't healthy, but there isn't much I can do about it.

Trust this fact- life goes on after Fiserv. It really does.

"You hear that sound Mr. Employee? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound of your layoff. Goodbye, Mr. Employee."

If you work here long enough, you will be laid off. The only way to not be laid off is to work somewhere else first. Stop being "Mr. Employee", and start being your own "Neo" and make your move. Stop letting "Agent Frank" hold you down and leave before your layoff arrives in the station.

People are really weak minded and soft at fiserv and maybe in general nowadays. You're not the famous YouTubers you doom scroll through all night right now and fantasize for. Go to your white collar job you signed up for on your own as an adult and stfu.

The feeling that it is not over -- as well as the feeling that some people remained employed that probably should have been let go but are stilled employed are very real.

In some cases, it might have been fair. I have worked the hours in the office that were asked of me, only to watch others not feel the rules applied.

I have never agreed with the policy of sitting at my desk during the hours that were demanded, but I also put in a lot of overnight and weekend support. Those work-life tradeoffs should have been respected. And they never will be by FB or his management committee.

Here is what you do. Write down the last day of every quarter and subtract 2 weeks. That's the range where they will fire you. Go be scared or get your resume together and prepare to upskill and leave.

We've all felt this way since mid-2020 which is when it all began. You can't trust anything anyone at this company says ... ever. It's been proven time and time again that your performance isn't valued or even reviewed before your name ends up on a list. Your own supervisor isn't even consulted so s/he has no chance to fight for you. You're on your own. You are worth SO much more than this company will ever acknowledge.

You obviously know this place is bad. Why are you worried they’ll kick you out?
