Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Lots of respect for Karen

I just want to say that I’m really impressed by the leadership of Karen. She has to make tough decisions for the good of the company, and this decision really exemplifies her boldness and toughness.

After this brief storm passes, I think CVS really does have a bright future with Karen at the helm.

What is happening with the 5,000 colleagues is quite unfortunate, but I am just grateful that we have Karen positioning CVS for the future. I do not envy the position that she is in, having to make these tough decisions.

Ok troll , we all need something to read while we’re taking a sh*t; 🤣:

— the livelihoods of 5,000 people in question; I think we can all agree having that uncertainty in limbo is more then “unfortunate”
That email asking to focus on our tasks and jobs during this time while we don’t know the “ how/when/where” shows a complete lack of reality/scope- a leader should be able to have a modicum , a clue, being able to relate on some level, the understanding or empathy that these aren’t 5,000 jobs, these are people’s means of putting food on the table, heating and cooling, their homes, caring for their families.. . - she’s asking us to continue to generate revenue for her, when we don’t know if we are going to be employed?

‘I do not envy the position that she is in, having to make these tough decisions.’

  • well that is the onus and responsibility you take on as the role of CEO , you are leading a multi billion dollar company; there is accountability and responsibility.

I mean the president of the Unites States makes a quarter of a million dollars I believe - and he could start international warfare ( look I don’t care if you voted for him or not, think there election was a fraud- whatever- I’m using his salary and ability to start international warfare is a reference point) - and even he has to answer to people and have accountability.

You cannot preach to “ lead by example”
When you have shown that you don’t give a sh*t by example, with being a hypocrite.

Lauren Havanec, HR Mo--n, cut it out. What does positioning for the future mean? Stores are under siege. Stores are closing. The PBM, while profitable, is being cut to size. Amazon has telehealth 24/7 nationwide. A nurse practitioner in a closet will save the day? You are too d-mb for an HR degree from the University of Connecticut. You have pi---d off 300,000 employees who are at minimal productivity.

the HR trolls in this post amaze me.... note to self HR your USELESS post all your propaganda but the reality is productivity and employee moral is at a low - - HARDLY ANYONE IS DOING REAL WORK RIGHT NOW because of the mental stress the announcement has caused - - KAREN made an error buying these two companies out of desparation and its really sad and sick that she doesn't admit her mistake, own it and have the guts to address her employees in this way.

get that rock off your finger you insensitive %$#@%

Ewwwww. When you value personal wealth and fame to the degree of not giving a cr-p about the people who run and have actually built the damn business just so you can make yourself look successful it’s truly just evil and disgusting. Does anyone really even want to be employed under this company even if they are safe??? That’s concerning too. She has started such a tornado with this mess and she’s going to run this business into the ground. Put people first my a-s!!! Should be put Karen’s salary first. Over this sh-t. Sad thing is… I used to really believe in this company and want to support the growth in helping others but it’s all a big fat smoke and mirrors show.

Right - women can’t hate her if they are also attractive, successful @glm+1o2DhC3Y?
It has nothing to do with hypocrisy.
Karen is the only woman who can be attractive and successful. 🙄
WOMEN- if you are attractive and successful you are not allowed to complain or talk about any hurdles!!

Only Karen!

For 23 million dollars a year as salary I’d expect much more- I make a fraction of that, and I have deliverables and have people up in my face.
Not to mention that we receive CVS stock for our retirement 401K match so we are shareholders( no we aren’t MAJORITY shareholders… guess the little people don’t count huh) you’re ignoring us as employees and shareholders.

How many “ Heart at Work Behaviors “ have I hit that you’ve missed there, Karen?

You overspent in one quarter in acquisitions (greedy) and it affected the stock price and value of what the company is worth, to make up the difference you’re cutting costs, the fastest way is labor.
The sh---y thing is you say you want to be transparent, when all you did was make people speculate and turn people against each other and become divisive and feel undervalued.
Good job you!

The men hate her because of misogyny, and the women hate her because she is rich, successful, and attractive. She just can’t win.

Karen, you are not the type of person I am or stand for. You are a selfish manipulative "person". Since you broke the news there's going to be 5,000 employee layoffs, I've had to turn my air conditioning off and sweat and be physically sick to not waste power. Sitting in the dark to not turn a light on because every second a light is on is money. I save up my bottles and return them so if even $.50 cheaper on my grocery bill it's better. You might represent CVS as a selfish wealthy person but you are not good. I am out. There is something called karma and penance and you will face both

You know that pandering to Karen over a layoff site won’t remove you from the 5,000, right?

She cares more about her Peloton than your future at CVS. Sorry that you’re not grasping this and need someone to explain this to you.

It wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't worn a ring the size of TX, when she insinuated layoffs in the Town Hall. Shows how out of touch she is. When you're ruining peoples lives don't wear a ring that costs more than they'll make in a lifetime.

Totally agree. Karen is the future of the organization. Her leadership and financial stewardship has been put to the test by decades of bad Retail/PBM and Aetna issues. Let’s cut another 5k and get the ants back to work.

Most Hate on Karen but she has positioned CVS very well for future earnings.EOS is at an all time low . While I would hate to be laid off ( more reorg at the aetna will happen) I would love to stay with the organization .
