Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Layoffs in January / February

I was told that we might be having layoffs more towards February by someone close to the process. Crazy right? I swear mgmt literally is going to cull all innovative thinkers from this place bc who wants to stay in this chaos . Can't wait to leave

The numbers already came out in my org (you can search google docs for this stuff) and we only have 5% of people in BS at all levels up to Sr Dir. Our VP told us mid year will be close to 5% again.

No it is not auto-firing for 15% of people, that's just fear mongering

You still receive 12 weeks severance if you are terminated for performance

Bottom 15% will be auto fired or PIP with 0 severance, same as last year. This is not news. If your performance review is not meets (strong) then expect a follow-up pink slip.

Some people may be allowed one more performance cycle (mid-year), at which you will still be laid off if regardless of mid-year performance, if the numbers aren't good. If they are then I'd expect a grace period for strong mid/strong end year 2024 performers.

I believe coming January amd February layoffs will take place, as it is when employees will be given their 2023 year end review and told they'll be on a PIP. Based on the mid year 2023 a lot of people were PIP'd and fired around October 2023. It's the twice yearly cycle and the time frames mirror when it was done in the past.

Damn touchy touchy and so sensitive. The season of the cry babies is among us lmao. Complain and whine and then do it all over again in 6 months lmfao

Lol. You guys are picking over ours vs yours, missing the point intentionally.

You know the culture , yet stay there hoping it's not going to be you.

You are calling DallasLaunda salty, yet this is a group that keeps talking about the same things over and over again. "C1 is awful, will I get sacked, if not repeat whining in a year". You are all salty, that's why you are here - me too.

This forum gets funnier and funnier every time I come here. Clearly the dude is salty so let him vent instead of going back and forth with him. I re-read the posts and he certainly did type “our leaders” as if he still worked at the company lmao. Mighty passionate about a place that he doesn’t work at any longer lmfao. Have a good day people and wish you all the best lol

@1vri+1quRu0Ep I practice what I preach. Left the company after a short stint the moment I figured out the culture.
Not for me.

Hmmm, the person claims others are staying around being played but yet isnt that same person doing the exact same thing and still implying that they work for the company by stating “our leaders”? Sounds like a hypocrite and someone who clearly wants to vent because things aren’t going their way. Good job trying to be the voice of reason but you should practice what you preach. What’s your excuse for still being at the company and being played since you are so self righteous?

@qwv+1quRu0Ep it's my childish way of pointing out that you are all feeding this monstrous mediocrity by hanging on to your jobs.

You are being played and you know it , but you hang around hoping it won't be you but someone else who will be impacted next time.

So, by staying here and playing the game, you are perpetuating the problem.

We should rename this thread: There is a 50/50 chance you will lose your job, and the decision won't be fair. So what are you doing about it?

To the last person that keeps posting these childish nasty irrelevant posts please stop it. People are concerned because they have families to take care of and bills to pay and are concerned if any impacts will happen to their areas so that they can get ahead and continue preparing for the impact of it. If you don't have anything of importance worth adding to help others out and vice versa just do not post anything at all. It’s bad enough having to be impacted or worried about your jobs but to have folks that are just negative to others because they are miserable with their own-self is just ridiculous, Grow up!

Why does it matter.
Our brave leaders are writing books on technology architecture and AI.
You should all be good citizens/subjects and buy multiple copies of each book and praise your glorious leaders on LinkedIn.
Just fall in line *uckers.

What areas were you told would be impacted in January/February?

I would have no problem with it if they were cutting fat, whilst redistributing maybe 10-20% of those salaries amongst the remaining workers. But ha I’ll go back to la La land with that one
