The job has become too much. I'm overworked and burnt out, and I'm this close to quitting even though I do not have a job lined up. I would consider being laid off a true blessing.

If your wife is home with the kids maybe swap roles for a few months will give you a break. Can’t she find a job?
Take some medical leave if you can.
- NO one can decide where you work or what you do next...unless H does another purge soon.
- Humana is toxic, & no amount of kool-aid or bs from bosses can change that.
- if YOU are not happy, only you can change that circumstance....waiting for them to drop the hammer makes zero sense.

I think the retiree means find another job that isn’t stressful which sounds like great advice.
Yes the market is tough now but you don’t have to be in health care if your health is getting ruined.

The moment you feel things are getting too much, ask yourself if this is temporary and will be soon over. If the answer is no or you don’t know, take a break from work. Who cares if you get laid off, just find another job.

I am feeling the same, I’ve never felt so burned out in my entire career. The job market is horrible and I’ve been trying to leave for a bit so it’s not easy but some severance and a bit of a break would be welcome. It’s all really affecting my health both mental and physical.
Seriously dealing this right now. They just raised our weekly production numbers to more than what was being required when working a mandatory 5 hours OT. It isn't right. Mandatory OT and a production increase when people are already struggling makes no sense.
There are many employees at Humana that are praying to be laid off Including those that are not in production environments. Even though I’m still younger, I can see Humana does not seem to value anyone over the age of 55, anyone that has traditional values, or anyone that uses their health and disability benefits. Just wait til the younger crowd takes 12 weeks off every couple of years for paternity leave and uses their caregiver leave taking care of those kids and their aging parents . They’ll be off on leave more than they’re working.
