Remember all those guys who created this company and were asked to leave? Mark, Eric, Elliott, Greg, Ernie, etc… well somehow they are all back on campus recently and regularly. I hear that Phil is really upset, and figured out that woke Nike is broke Nike so asked to bring the real leaders back. Only question is do these senior citizens still have the magic? Is this a desperate move or brilliant, I can’t tell but it gives a good idea of the mistakes on the people side the company has made continually over the last five years.

I’ll add my witness that I have seen Mark on campus more recently than I have in the past few years
Many of the old guard were toxic and left permanent scars in past reorgs through CDO and CDA. I pray for example, that the last sourcing and manufacturing boss does not show up on campus. Ditto for the Footwear mafia.
If you think Phil has much to say in this, you don’t understand how corporations work. Sure, he probably has influence, but Phil is no longer chairman of the board. Also, there is a BOARD, and those people are JD’s boss. JD is doing what his boss (the Board) is telling him to do. Or at least they are approving what he’s doing. CEOs don’t really just go around making unilateral decisions. The ENTIRE BOD is responsible for the sh** we’re in right now. I disagree that ‘woke politics’ is what’s wrong with leadership or this company. Look at everyone at the top: Mostly straight, white, male (with a few exceptions to keep it legal). How is this “woke”? Anyone saying that is a crybaby middle aged white man with an inferiority complex. Quite your bit**ing.
First thing first Nije needs to stop hiring people with BS in Politics, Psychology etc

I have several million dollars on Nike stock I invested when I worked there for 9 years in 90”s but left due to politics

The facts are that there is ongoing favoritism based on race, nationality, gender, gender identity and a few non-fireable forms of favoritism.
Nike HR and leadership should wise-up and understand the costs of multiple, indefensible lawsuits that are coming their way if they don't decide to eliminate the people that have multiple complaints already recorded against them.

Exactly. Who chairs the board and who made the hiring decisions? This is on them all, board and elt. They got complacent and believed they and the product were special. Well it’s not and they are not. They got schooled at their own game by a bunch of upstarts named Lulu, Hoka, On, whatever.

Those guys who created this company made bank. And Nike’s history is littered with layoffs and booms / its corporate America. Having been here for a dozen years I can tell you that those names you mentioned have made their fair share of d-mb decisions.
Not sure why people still think that “Phil will save us”. They created this place and laid off a lot of people in their time. If dont like how things are then need to look for way out
