The impending rise of AI technology will bring about a revolution at PepsiCo, leading to widespread job losses across many sectors/functions. However, jobs that require direct human interaction and those managing such roles will be the last to be affected, as GBS/Mexico/AI lacks the emotional intelligence to replace such positions. Until that fateful day arrives, layoffs will continue to occur as PepsiCo continues to adopt Cheaper IT workers to streamline their operations. It is a bleak future, but one where the value of human connection will be more important than ever before.

three years of covid got a lot of face time managers on board to the remote management philosophy. while we thought it was a win for a time, for work life balance, it became catalyst for more global teams in cheaper parts of the globe.

@qhp+1kx0fo1W - I had a team of contractors from Mexico. The infrastructure is terrible and when their analysts can't connect to the network they just take the day off without notifying anyone.

I’m quitting this month. Although I am 62 and can take early social security, I will look for another job. Even a pay cut is worth it. This is the most toxic organization I have had the misfortune of working for - and this from someone who’s been working since 1978. Along with my retirement- I plan on never purchasing another product made by PepsiCo again. They’ve stolen my time and health - but won’t ever again get my wealth!

There is life after PepsiCo and it is so much better I was part of the layoffs in 2020 and it was the best thing that ever happened to me ! PepsiCo is so toxic and now I work for an amazing company and make way more money without the day to day looking over my shoulder

For those in payroll - why didn’t severance checks go out today?

Heard today that despite layoffs, bonuses will be good. Last year corporate was well over 150%. Heard this year will be similar or more.

What’s odd is I was told Pepsi would like to move more jobs to Mexico, but currently the infrastructure in the Mexico office is so bad they can’t do it.

so true. one person in payroll took the VRP they are not replacing her she has to stay until the end of May. I am in payroll and just waiting for the package.
