Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Union scares them: they are watching here

Yes, they are definitely on here posting as well as watching. Some of the very sycophantic posts of "grow up and do your job snowflake" are almost assuredly from the company. They also like employees b!tch!ng about wether it's heritage ST or heritage BBT to blame and they love we are at each other's throats. It's CURRENT leadership to blame and they don't want us focusing that anger at them. They don't discuss anything with us. Supervisors are threatened not to tell reports anything. They are scared as f**k we might actually come together on something, heritage BBT or SunTrust or newly Truist, and stand up to them. Don't think for a moment with all the cuts we've had, that executive leadership hasn't still gotten huge bonuses and pay increases on already exorbitant salaries, all out our expense. Our only hope of standing up to them without having angry breakdowns in town hall forums and ranting, is to unionize and take that anger and hit them where it hurts: the wallet. Don't 'quiet quit' or 'hope for the best' or 'su-k it up and take it like a man'. Get what you are entitled too. Us unionizing s ares the F out them and they want us scared, uninformed and suspicious and jealous of each other.

Union membership can provide workers with many benefits, including:
Better pay: Union members earn an average of 30% more than non-union workers.
Better benefits: Union members have access to employer-provided health insurance (96% compared to 69%), paid sick days (93% compared to 75%), retirement benefits (82% to 48%), and guaranteed pensions (54% to 8%).
Collective bargaining power: Union members can negotiate with employers on their behalf to set pay standards, workplace protections, and legally binding contracts.
Safer workplaces: Union members can help increase health and safety awareness by up to 70%.
Greater equality: Compensation in unionized workplaces is more equitable overall, with relatively higher wages for lower paid workers and less of a wage gap for women, younger workers, and racialized workers.
Job satisfaction: Unionized employees enjoy greater job satisfaction because unions allow employees to negotiate the rules and policies of the workplace with the employer.
Seniority: Unions value seniority in the workplace, which means that in case of a layoff, employees the company hired most recently get let go before employees who have been at the company longer.

“Love when those speaking reality get called all kind of names. Just shows that your age is 40 and under. Every single time. The future of our country is truly gone.”

Oh well, guess you should just lie down and die then, since the future is gone. Carbon monoxide is a pretty clean way to go.

“ We aren’t unionizing. Full stop. Like the guy says below, all the union does is take money from your paycheck and make sure that a bunch of lazy teammates still get pay raises. NO THANKS!”

I have great news, id-iot, you’re already in a union. Beau and Bill thank you for your dues, they needed new clothes for when they attend the PGA tour.

Truist nor any other bank for that matter fear unions. The only place unions are making inroads at all is with branch employees, low paying jobs that are on the decline. No offense to those who work in a branch but the majority of a banks employees are professionals who want nothing to do with any union. Your Chief Teammate Officer and her merry band of DEIers have no fear of any union.

Nancy...good one. anyway this is the divisiveness and in fighting they want. All you want to do is troll, do you aren't as mature as you'd like to pretend and probably more likely the company poster who wants to move the conversation back to on group against another, this time generational and political.

Moving on, it is the only way our voices will be heard and we will actually have a say.

Based on your little tirade there Nancy, you aren’t as “immune” as you think you are.

OP here. 1) You general attacks and verbage tell me two things: you are exactly the kind of sycophantic m0r0n I was referring to AND you are most likely not a very high level employee. But go ahead and take it like a man. 2) you are way off. Gen X here, immune to your kind of bullying because I'm also g-y and dealt with puffed up wannabes like you all my life and you have nothing of substance. Just insults, ad hominems, strawman arguments and gaslighting.

You're just embarrassing yourself with the whole Grumpy old man, get off my lawn shtick. How about this: grow a pair and actually stand up for yourself, gimp.

Once the new administration takes over on Jan we won’t have this problem anymore.

Typical Gen Z entitlement. Shouldn’t you be in a tent “protesting” on a college campus?

We aren’t unionizing. Full stop. Like the guy says below, all the union does is take money from your paycheck and make sure that a bunch of lazy teammates still get pay raises. NO THANKS!

Some of us still believe in grit and hard work to define our career.

Regards,

OK Boomer. I wear it with pride Nancy boys.

OP here: the first reply is exactly what I'm talking about. Most likely a company account meant to discourage us from unionizing and cause in fighting. They are scared af of us united.

To the user below about being paid based on "meritocracy", it's a good thought on paper. Until you realize that even if you do everything to more than deserve a higher merit increase/rating - it doesn't matter.

The company encourages us to "be efficient" and "find ways to reduce costs", but fails to reward those that do. Backwards way to run a company, especially when they are on a MISSION to reduce costs.

Make it make sense...

Unionize? So our money can go to union bosses with no accountability? So promotions and raises are based on seniority and not performance? NO!

I prefer meritocracy, where pay is based on performance. Stop the whining and try doing the job you are paid for.
