Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Big Thanks, Y'all !

Just wanted to express my appreciation for the existence of this site and everyone who takes the time to share their experiences hereβ€” the frustrations, jokes, news, wish-list. HR may have shut their eyes, ears and dumped the complains in trash, but they do read this site :).
Hope EH reads it too some day .....

It’s in the honest exchanges, the venting of struggles, and the camaraderie of this space. It’s a solid reminder that no, we 're not going crazy, and we're not imagining things. The misery and toxicity out there? Yeah, it’s real. But so is the support, the laughs, and the understanding we build together here.

Shoutout to y'all for being awesome - for listening/reading, the up and down votes and for making this little corner of the internet, a space where we can all feel a little more sane.
Keep being you, and keep showing up for each other! πŸ™ŒπŸ’™

@1pn - We all have fewer resources. She should then have less time to complain about her peers and leaders right? The few times she makes time I have to hear her discourse on how she can set her org right and everyone else is a fool. And it is not just her, I find this attitude with most people in that org. They all need to hold themselves accountable before they advice us.

@pam your HRBP is probably totally overwhelmed. There are barely any of them left.

Well said. As I read the posts by HR employees in this forum, it is clear they are delusional. While their leadership was lacking, I find very few HR partners who are different from leaders they complain about. They are part of the toxicity, are horrible to any new leader who is brought in to drive change, are horrible to each other and mistakenly believe the ones who left are wanting to come back. Why would any sane person who left a dysfunctional organizational want to come back? Those leaders were successful prior to the swoosh and are successful after the swoosh. It is only swoosh hr that continues to spiral down. There is no desire to help anyone let alone themselves. Whole org needs a revamp. My HR partner has not responded to emails for weeks, is never in office and creates confusion when seen.

Honestly this place helped me to cope.

Look at the other business's on this site, the posters are all people chasing after titles, increasing their TC and gossip.

With Nike though it shows that people who post here genuinely care. They want this brand to be better.

We are afraid to speak up or hold bad leadership accountable thanks to the reign of te---r imposed by MM.

MM is the first SLT decision that EH has made and the message was clear in his announcement.

I hope everyone got it and we should hold our teammates accountable.

It is time to put human back to human resources. Culture fuels the Nike magic. We dont sell shoes, we sell aspiration and through that emotion.

I love this brand, I am here because I cant survive in a bland corporate environment. MMs leadership team tried to turn Nike into a generic corporation with bland leaders and ultimately a fu--ing Bain consultant ceo that tried to build our future with incompetent Bain cronies.

The brand and shareholders paid the price.

We can fix this sh-t but first we first need to fix HR and create a culture where our teammates are appreciated based on their contributions and not group belonging.

…or defund human resources and dismantle the whole thing. Their existence is a net minus as is, their absence will be a direct improvement πŸ˜‚
