I was looking forward in the beginning of 2024 to three paydays in August. It's an awful feeling not knowing what's around the corner. Oh those Tuesdays after payday. 😰 God help us.

I am the re-hire.. I completely agree with you.. and the only good thing I see happening is ... if / when I am displaced, me getting 2 more weeks of severance... because I was just at 8 years and 9 months... and they were just giving me severance for 8 years (the 9 months were not even considered)...the rehire will make hopefully to 9 years or even 10!
@1lqy gotta make those headcount reduction percentages somehow.
You should definitely worry. I swear these days they’re hiring people just so they can lay them off. In some cases they’re even REhiring them just so they can lay them off again.
I was just rehired.. starting in August.. even though i accepted the job (as I needed one).. wonder from which pay cycle should I start getting worried...
we get 26 pay checks a year.

That's what I dread, those 3 Tuesdays after the August paydays. Tuesdays after August paydays, 8/6, 8/20, 9/3.
If you did, add the shotg-n holster.
Shouldn’t your real fear be a three-Tuesdays-after-payday month?
I used to LOVE the 3 payday months!
of course, it's now 1 payday month no matter what :)
