Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

HR had layoffs yesterday

So word was out yesterday in the hallways that HR was conducting their RIFs. What have you all heard? Pretty quiet in here about that.

There were many HR teammates who jumped ship over the past few months because of how poorly the process and communication was being handled.

@1afy+1r34nWfN "Moral injury" is when your job or circumstances force you to do things that go against your ethics and values. Yet another reason good people leave.

First and foremost, my thoughts are with everyone getting laid off. This bank is an absolute mess, and just when you think executive management couldn’t go lower, they do.

But on another note, nobody, and I mean nobody, associated with HR should be surprised with the way employees are treated at Truist. One of my favorite people in HR left solely because they couldn’t stomach what they were being asked to do. I don’t blame people in HR for what has occurred, but I do think differently about the ones that remain.

How exactly would you measure hr performance?

@oml+1r34nWfN You being in HR certainly you were aware performance was not and is not a factor in riffs, right?

I was in HR and got laid off yesterday. Obviously they didn't look at performance just another consulting company looking at a spreadsheet. Politicians don't run companies consulting companies do!

Wells just did their HR rifs this week too. People who have been around for a while too. Decreasing costs.

Do they mislead themselves?

I had heard since last year HR would go last. Basically they had to keep the HR team to help coordinate all the other rifs, then get rif'd themselves. SunTruist at its finest!

Hopefully all the DEI programs are going where they need to go. Out the door!
