I have to admit, I'm surprised to see that most of those who were laid off in my group are younger folks. In every other layoff round I can think of, the majority of those affected were older employees. I don't know if this is just my group or if it's the same for the entire company, but it's unusual.

Maybe they sit by the door and could see them leaving.
How do you even know who was laid off from your group today? They did not provide a list, at all.
Knowing Fiserv, the newer hires probably were paid more than legacy folk....
More work ethic? Yeah, sure. The number of older people I see in positions in each company I've been in that can't keep up is insane. It goes both ways.
They let go of many with 20+ years as well. It depended on the department and the leaders. This company is horrible. They micro manage and don't teach managers to be leaders. I did not know there was one guy on our team for the 10 months I was on it. He is the reason for Sapience tools. THat is a MANAGER ISSUE! Was he let go? NOPE! He is low pay and now they will manage him by "tools." I was one of the highest paid, so talent did not matter.
For us older employees we have a bit more work ethic than some of the younger employees. I have seen entire teams almost wiped out on the 3rd floor. I also noticed the younger employees affected but was afraid to say anything. Looking at missing name placards shows just how ruthless they are this go. Good luck Tuesday/Wednesday employees.
