WellsFargo signs *massive* new lease deal in india

https://m.economictimes.com/industry/services/property-/-cstruction/wells-fargo-inks-1-3-million-sq-ft-office-lease-with-divyasree-in-hyderabad/articleshow/79356376.cms

This is probably a leading indicator for where wells fargo jobs are going?

That complex can house 25,000 additional india staff?

This after there are already 40000+ india staffers in india already?

If you need any further evidence that your job is on the line this is probably it....

Sit back, enjoy the ride, and give them less....

It won't work. The whole place smells bad. The people are cool, but they speak very poor American english. And good luck trying to find a cheeseburger or pizza out there without stepping on little kids when you get off the plane. India is a mistake WFC -pick a different country.

This is true. Just search non-US jobs in the career center. All of the jobs posted internationally can be seen there and will even list the department.

Wells Fargo leases over 1.3 mn sq ft office building in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: American multinational financial services major Wells Fargo & Company (with $1.92 trillion in assets) has leased an entire office building with more than 1.3 million sq ft space at DivyaSree’s Orion in Hyderabad, touted as one of the largest commercial real estate deals in India amid the Covid pandemic.

Sources say, the transaction is one of the biggest office space lease deals in the city so far, with Wells Fargo paying more than Rs 110 crore in annual rental for the built-to-suit office building, at a rate of Rs 70/sq ft/month.

The building which will have 21-23 storeys will house 10,000-12,000 employees. It is expected to be ready for fit outs in the next 6-8 months, and from there the company will take another 6-8 months for interior fit outs, making it ready for occupancy by end of 2021 or early 2022.

The agreement is for a lease tenure of nine years and the deal includes a rental reset clause at the end of every three years with 15 per cent escalation. Transaction advisor JLL India declined to comment.

Someone who is against offshoring US jobs for US based publicly-held companies should not automatically be labeled as racist. There are unintended consequences to offshoring, and many US companies are now bringing jobs back to the US. Wells Fargo is always two steps behind the trend, never a pioneer.

I don’t see any Wells Fargo executives who are open to the idea of offshoring their positions to assist in the cost-cutting. And I’m pretty sure Charlie does not want to deal with the communication issues resulting from his exec admin’s job being off-shored to the Philippines.

If that were a prerequisite, there would probably be no one here at all.

Wow. Great job continuing to run the business in to the ground, Charlie. For $36,000,000 I would hope we could get a CEO with more unique ideas than lay-offs and outsourcing. We could have paid someone $250,000 a year for that.

So a scandal-plagued company who is in trouble with the Feds for lack of oversight, is going to increase outsourcing to a third-world country which puts data security at risk, and makes policies and procedures harder to control. I can’t wait until customers find out their not-so-confidential info is in the hands of $1.50/hour workers.

Seriously, I wish all employees would write letters to the Board and the House Finance Committee asking for a CEO who has integrity, has the courage to challenge the norm, and is loyal to the United States, a country which has served him quite generously.

They have been pretty clear that they have decided to move as much of IT work overseas as they can. Saul answers that question in most of his AMAs.
