Didn’t know it was possible to talk over somebody by typing...
Throwing insulting names out is very motivational. It worked to bring you into the conversation to tell us we are being “warned”....Thanks Nostradamus, you can go back to being non-essential there Ace!

Maybe someone could get an idea of numbers by actually listening to what people have to say, instead of talking over every one in the room, and calling people cute little names like chief, sparky, champ,or whatever stupid little name makes you feel better about yourself. If you actually listen (or read), you might figure out that someone is actually trying to warn you of what's coming next, out of recent experience. Good luck buttercup. Did I do that right?

Good point. Where did you get that info on how many were approved/denied exactly? Also, you are comparing all of Aero to your one site?

In a nutshell upper management knows nothing but #’s. They think that highly technical people can be replaced with anybody off the street. So don’t give these brainless clowns so much credit with thinking they make smart decisions on who they choose for VRIF’s. Also, as I stated before...this is not a normal layoff like we have seen in the past. You did hear about this virus closing everything down right? When have you seen this before, and don’t say 9/11 cuz that was not a natural phenomenon like what we are witnessing now. Layoffs in the past were due to pure greed, this is more company survival. Please bring your starting lineup next time you want to play ball there Pal.

I think we found our HR plant or leadership lackey, it's @tav. How do you know those numbers? Who are you reporting back to? If you think it's going to save you from being riffed think again, Tiger.

The Voluntary only gives you the chance to control your destiny. But the severance is the same. 1 week every year up to 26 weeks.

Involuntary same severance package

So why not sit and collect as many paychecks and let them tell you you're done.

I saw them deny people ready to retire so they didn't get the severance benefits. If you're planning on retiring don't let them know, keep them guessing.

Considering they denied 95% of VRIF's here, and still got rid of 25% of the workforce in this location during the last 2 waves, it doesn't matter. If they accept your VRIF, they were already going to get rid of you. There is no incentive for volunteering. You are only showing your hand, that you want out.

Must work in management....
So you think if you don’t volunteer they will RIF you anyway? The voluntary is for them to cover their Arses and be able to get rid of people with no repercussions. I know many retired HoneyHole employees that would’ve love that supposed non benefit of voluntary when they were retiring. These are different times, this isn’t just a normal layoff. Look at the numbers there Chief.

@xzm No clear reason? Have you EVER stepped one foot inside of a Honeywell in the past 20 years? Are you aware of all the benefits and acts of appreciation that have fallen by the wayside after Diamond Dave took control? No clear reason? New hires coming in at $4-5 more than people with 10-15 years more experience? Might be time to sit this one out, sport.

Severance plan is the same for RIF, whether it is voluntary or involuntary. They will deny your Voluntary if you aren't already on the list to be RIF'ed. There is absolutely no clear reason to volunteer.

@jmp
You take voluntary if you are planning to retire. The benefit is you get 26 weeks to sit on your A drinking beer and toking a fat doob, instead of working until your last day.

Names for this IVRIF were given about 3+ weeks ago. People choosing the voluntary aren't saving anyone.

My question why take voluntary? They are offering zero incentive. Might as well wait for them to tap you on the shoulder or am I missing something?

I understand what RIF is, but what is VRIF and IVRIF? As of today I’m one of the last AME’s left. Not sure how ling that will last. The day is still young.
