Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Any news about Tucson?

Celestica Tucson here. Joined Honeywell R&O in 2015. We (ISC) transitioned from Honeywell to Celestica in 2017. Last year, before COVID and RIFs, there were 200 Celestica and 200 Honeywell here at Tucson.

Honeywell is leaving Tucson, and taking 20 to new jobs in Phoenix (Tempe? Deer Valley?). The Honeywell people that I work with quit and got other jobs locally. I know an engineer who is staying until the end to get a severance payment, and I have heard that there are others doing the same.

The Honeywell people worked from home, and now they are not even at Honeywell, so we don't get any news. Do any Honeywell Aero people know anything more? Facts, rumors, myths, innuendo, anything appreciated.

Puerto Rico does not have product lines. In addition, right now around 30 jobs (give or take) will be lost in Puerto Rico. Finance department functions will be moved to Phoenix.

@skw: Yes it is on N. Oracle Road in Oro Valley. The link shows an article from Aug. 2020.

2017 is the year I retired from Honeywell Tucson, I am surprised to learn there was 200 Honeywell employees left. There used to be 2400 Honeywell employees there. If you arrived at the plant after 8:00 a.m. there was no place to park. Every product line was slated to be moved out of the country, Mexico, India, Puerto Rico, etc.
None of these will ever come back.

Tucson has become just part of history for me.
Any product line that would have come out of there seems to be 100percent Bangalore.
