Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

9/22 is Spans and Layers Lay-off date for Risk and Compliance

  1. N. Scheduled her next All Hands Call on 9/28/20 so she can give a speech about how all of the managers needed to go to make the department more efficient and to save the company. Then, she is going to talk about how things will go more smoothly, and will introduce more useless new hire level Risk employees she was forced to hire from JPM to appease our CEO. I am a manager with less than 7 direct reports and will be relieved to get my notice on Tuesday, and to get out of this dump. The SVPs and above who are left do nothing anyway. All of the worker Bee managers will be wiped out, chaos will reign and the poor individual contributors left behind will be overloaded with zero direction and guidance from the far removed SVPs who haven’t a clue how to get anything done. Props for the "SHINING" movie reference: @ipj+16Yh0Itt – WF is the Overlook Hotel and it's Chainsaw Charlie swinging the Ax –and everybody else waiting for rescue from the Cavalry/scatman crothers.

MN is out by Thanksgiving. Spencer Stuart is the headhunting firm on retainer for the next CRO.

@nit, I so agree. MN and AVB are completely out of touch living in their white, ivory towers. Those two are such good buddies. They are so above the rest of us (or so they think).

MN is still trying to sell her $5.5MM ivory tower. Just curious if she has a new $5.5MM ivory tower in Charlotte and is now shelling out $60K/month to maintain both.

Mandy does sound a might bit out of touch.

Saul in IT is the same way. His AMA's go on for an hour and he rarely says anything useful, other than the occasional "tough **** if someone asks about layoffs or relocations.

Remember that in corporate America our leaders come from the best schools, and they got their by the hard work and money of their parents bribing their way in.

We are not led by the best and brighest.

Not a fan of Mandy. On one of her calls back around June she was reminding everyone despite Covid we need to use PTO. Then she went on about how she likes to use her PTO exploring new countries. Out of touch?? Month later she was talking about living on top of a mountain and going for walks. Still out of touch, most of us cannot afford to explore countries. She seems more concerned with social issues.

The OP seems to have some information, but presents it like the movie trailer for "2012".

That's the movie where the world ends.

I am not on MN's team, FYI, and I have no inside knowledge of anything going on.

My manager did schedule an extra team call for next week, but it's not on the Tuesday predicted, so it could be just business stuff.

Don't panic, folks, you have been through hard times before.

Get your head right and make a plan.

Having a plan will help with your stress level.

What are MN numbers, last time I looked I was surprised her org was so small. I think it was less the 10k.

When is Mandy Norton's turn to be cancelled? She was on an all hands deck called this month with my department - no one gives a sh– about where you would like to travel given the current state of the company and how low morale is.

This makes total sense. As soon as I saw the meeting request I new this would be the platform to discuss the aftermath and how these actions will strengthen WellsFargo, the typical BS. I am a strong contributer but the writing is on the walls. All I see is REDRUM!
