Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Favortism in Finance

these layoffs were done with no regard to change in roles or structure, just look at what happened in finance

the whole fpa team is led by a narcacistic sociopath who didnt select a single one of her people to be laid off and now everyone in finance is afraid of saying anything to her except for yes ma'am. meanwhile the CFO is able to save his brother in law in another division...

PK is losing so much of his wealth by the mismagement of his company by these id--ts...

look at the new org chart for Finance, gives you a view of the pecking order as its not in alpha order, guess who's first? NR, guess who's last? BF.

BF role to be outsourced in 6 months, who's taking bets?? what have they been transforming btw and why is it taking so long?

Give DS a chance in Procurement... he is one of the smartest people out there. Procurement experience or not he is smart AF and very pragmatic. He is def NOT one of NR's faves... there's plenty of those... but he isn't one of them.

I can't help read MF as Mother F**ker, especially given the context

I covered for MF admin back in the day. I instantly disliked him. He was BRUTAL behind closed doors, and in JM they were those sliding glass doors you could hear it all.
He is NOT a nice man.

As I read these comments it’s evident that so many of us feel the same way it’s pretty telling how bad of a mess has been made of this once stand up finance function that we all joined, looking to develop and grow our career in. That is no more. Hey MF you listening??

The leaders that left were definitely telling us something by their actions. They left for better opportunities yes, but also purposely left this toxic place behind because they exhausted all other options and were done trying. The other things these leaders had was a genuine care of their teams and people. Sadly none of that remains in the global finance org. Like MI all they care about is their new offices and getting as close as possible to SC5

At the end of the day, many of the true people leaders have left Nike and now we are basically left with sycophants. It won't be a surprise to anyone if MI lands the APLA CFO role, he spends most of his time managing up. He'll paint himself as a success story - someone who started his career at Nike and worked his way up, but don't buy it. He's gone on ski weekends with MF and has been crafting this moment for years.

It was smart of SSE, RT and PR to leave and land public CFO roles. They were basically telling us to jump ship without coming out and saying it.

@mmg+1sdGuaWm that SM promo had everyone baffled. I'm surprised no one has said more on that since she she was handed that role. Others with way more experience, expertise and frankly executive presence were passed up (sounds like its because NR bulldozed that one through), some were even let go, and somehow she remains. another example of this function going downhill. and yeah CG step up please - you're really our last hope, and right now all we see is NR calling all the shots

MF is part of the worst of the worst. Bro culture is alive and well at Nike.

Everyone sees this favoritism issue with finance and favoritism.. How the heck did SM get promoted and given such a role ??

What about MT and his famous Mike uncle ?

This is an old White boys and white girls club.

The smartest guy there is PT, but Brutha won’t get anywhere cuz well you know…

Every leader has their favorites, unfortunately with NR it is so blatant as evidenced by the wave 1 exits. If you look at the list of impacted employees, there was a common theme...folks who were considered part of SSE's camp. At least during SSE's tenure, there was some balance. But now that NR is in the #2 Finance position, she has taken advantage of this opportunity to ensure only her people are in senior positions, regardless of whether or not they are ready or capable to do the roles. How did DS become the Chief Procurement Officer of a $50B company! It's because everyone knows he is a NR favorite, not because of his vast procurement experience. And CG, we need you to step up and lead. Stop letting NR step all over you.

This would be laughable if it weren’t so true. Open secret that MF saved his own brother in law’s job. And HR just stands by and watches. Is this just how corp america works?

There were plenty of layoffs in finance. Lots of old timers and those associated with prior regimes were sent packing. Favoritism yes.. a lot. Anyone that challenges or threatens adios.

NR not a leader anyone aspires to be or looks up to. she made sure to get rid of the strong women that other women looked up to, as quickly as she could after SSE left. She thinks we’re too clueless to notice
