What about us "Field Reps"

trying to figure out what all of this RTO means for those of us who were hired as full time remote / "Field Reps"

Which doesn’t and didn’t mean anything. If one side can unilaterally tear up an agreement, there was never really an agreement worth anything in the first place. Myself and dozens of others I know were hired as “field reps” and had never heard of telecommute agreements. It sounds more like a cleaning house thing than anything that made a difference. As before Covid, you could be remote without one and now RTO, you can be remote without one. But you better like your job cause you ain’t ever getting another full remote position until the pendulum swings back the other way, presumably once Charlie and team move on like a swarm of locusts to their next wheat field.

all formal or informal telecommuting agreements are null and void.

I had a formal telecommuting agreement when I was hired, long before Covid. However, since I am close to an office, I have been assigned to that office, and my status is no longer remote. I think it depends on the group since some groups have been more willing to get exceptions through executive management. In my particular group, there are other people who also used to have telecommuting agreements, and still need to return to office. In some cases this means going to a branch, or a non-hub office where they are not co-located with anyone from the same group, let alone team.

So, as a remote employee that was then switched to an in office employee, now our workplace is showing me remorse once more. It clearly says the teamworks/mac addresses will stay but if it says remote, you're remote. Not sure how they're going to work this remote thing with the whole agile thing. I don't need to be on site to make a phone call.

"That's my story. Your's may be slightly different."

Thanks for sharing. I was hired as "Field Rep" and live in a state with no Wells Fargo presence aside from branches. Our group, ICS (infosec) was initially granted an exception when this location strategy nonsense started pre-covid.

I was hired as a Field Rep and WFH years before Covid. During all of the RTO ramp-up, I was assigned to an office location 15 miles away due to living within the 40-mile limit of a Tech Hub, but then I was approved by executive mgmt to return to full-time remote. Workday shows me as "assigned" to a local retail banking branch although I continue to work in my comfy sweats from home.

That's my story. Your's may be slightly different.

"I was previously 100% remote"

Were you hired as a "Field Rep" or were you just working remotely? There is a difference.

The “Get details for my work location” within the main “Our Workplace” RTO site is where you go to see your official assigned office, not workday. All remote employees have been assigned an address in workday (typically the nearest branch) but that is only for mailing purposes and does not mean you will be working from that location. The Our Workplace RTO site specifically spells this out.

With that said, I was previously 100% remote and told that I would be assigned to a specific office, although the Our Workplace site still has me listed as 100% remote so maybe it hasn’t been updated with all office assignments yet.

I'm at the geographically closest branch, same as @omb

In the RTO status system I'm listed as remote. It appears that for some reason they're basing your job out of wherever you are. I get this from the "keep people market ranges accurate" perspective, but it does lend itself to the belief that at some point I'll be asked to work inside a branch.

It'll be hilarious though. As someone on the technology side, who works after-hours due to production system changes, there's no way I'm going to be left in a branch after 6pm local time. If I'm east coast that means my office closes up to 6 hours before my actual work begins. If I'm west coast it's up to 2 hours. What if my shift spans that cutoff?

If your job is listed in a branch, and you're not part of the business that can operate out of a retail setting, probably not much reason to worry about that. I'd be much more worried about the 30% increase in efficiency requirements being thrown around.

My "location" in Workday is a Wells Fargo branch near my house, a "Business Site".

Nice to see concern for your fellow employees.

Usually there is a reason people were hired full time remote. Grow up.

Check Workday for your new office location. If there is no location listed, you will probably be shown another location to proceed to (out the door). I was one of those field reps, and was told we were being "returned" back to an office, so I promptly found other employment.
