DMs up to executives, trainers, HR, Ops, and any others that could have literally had a second job for the past 4 years need to wake back up and toggle on. If they want feedback then they need to grab a tablet and hit the floor for a week undercover boss style to actually experience the issues. I personally think this is completely reasonable. However In their eyes if they stepped away from their acting role even for a little while everything would crash. I’m here to tell you it will not. If anything it’ll be more productive

They need to stop managing from a spreadsheet, and get their as--s into stores with a tablet in their hand to see how the current economy is affecting sales. Instead of saying oh well this number is low, you must not be doing 'this'. Get real.
In their defense short sighted does sound like short sided but i guess they never understood the context. Nor can they blame it on auto correct. At this point all they can do is yell MOM real loud

Sounds like you’re just a lazy SM or a rather GM who just “justifies” his/her job by just showing up to work (that too just for namesake), taking phone calls & selfies after a good sales transaction to show “Your” worth? Company talking abt cutting costs, OT etc, why don’t they look at how much the GMs, useless SMs and the same Area Managers incomes then?? Why only Sales Reps? What do the managerial level peeps provide us? Nothing & simply nothing. After doing their 8, they hit the gate thanking everyone for “THEIR” hard work? Ever tried cold calling urself SMs & GMs? Ever tried calming those rude customers or “Actually” talking an escalation? Ever tried selling in general to be honest or just bootlicked and got promoted (that’s a BIG BIG investigation matter which the “ETHICS” team, “NOT”, “HR” team has to be involved and one already knows why, because of those posters in the break room), Or maybe u did it in the Golden Days and now ur bragging abt urself how easy it was back then and how easier it has become in today’s date? Ever tried “BEING” on the floor and even taking somewhat of an interest in “ANY” given transactions or customers’ issues or simply being on the phone pleasing your higher ups? Ever tried justifying “UR” own role what ur supposed to “DO” but u have ur “Reps” do it for you which they don’t even get paid for ( “Keyholder” huh? who are given the fake hopes of becoming an SM). Who’s useless here?? The whole company knows it & yet they’re keeping their mouth shut SMH. If the company really wants to save money by cutting costs, go after SMs salaries/bonuses and same for the lame GMs. They get paid 6 figures for what? Justify your role plus what you actually bring it on the table for company to keep paying you that 6 figure salary, NOT by taking selfies, NOT by being on phone calls bootlicking and having those phone calls. DO something. Oh and also 90% are “Tenured” as well, So shouldn’t the company hire younger individuals to do the same work for a lot cheaper rather than paying these Fat Cats who’re themselves looking at a “VERY GENEROUS SEVERANCE PACKAGE” before they’re let go?? If they can’t get the job done then why is the company keeping you useless peeps? I encourage all the Reps out there just to do what they get paid for, just like them, do ur 8 hit the gate simple, make ur money get the he-l out. Who cares after all anyways. After all that’s “ALL” they get paid for right? So why do the extra effort “Without” getting paid extra? Furthermore nobody cares if Hans gonna buy another Ferrari or a Jet, we should rather be there for ourselves NOT Verizon or HIM, “JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE” in the company. Leadership asks stupid questions like “what time are you going to get a new line?” Like I’m a fortune teller or something !! If I had that answer I would play the lottery and win so I could get the he-l out of this craphole !!
They have been absent for years and when they are present it’s just barking orders or having a call every day to beat you over the head of what you do wrong…inept!! Vote No Confidence
This is a very narrow and short sided post. You believe that the only thing that can be considered “work” is physically helping a customer? Tell us you are uneducated without telling us you’re uneducated.
How about customer escalations? Sales forecasting, hiring, recruiting, working on trouble tickets, responding to emails, employee relations emails, coming up with new sales pitches.
These are all things that take up more than 1 hour of work a week. From the measure of this post alone it sounds like you’re not very educated, nor are you a very good rep if all you’re focused on for work is helping someone when they walk in the door.
How are you finding new customers? How are you following up on leads?
It's not any one else's job to do your job except you. If you don't like said job, find another. Not a hard concept.
