Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

What's next?

You'd think a decision to either stay or get the boot would be a pretty big deal to most people that want to work for living. So far today, it's been mostly crickets chirping (nothing). Bo--s dropped on us and haven't heard a word all day from managers above us. Is this really the company you want to pick up and move with? Really?

@cka+1oBm3T8z, 5000? Is that figure really true? I have heard 1000 but are there really 5000 this round?

Had never really heard of Hartley (took over for KF) until the call yesterday. Then first intro....hello, either move or your fired. All smiles and laughs. What a great first introduction to your upper management!

Crickets because no one's worried. We will all find work elsewhere without issue. It's not really our loss is it ?

HR is cleaning up the mess, really busy working on paperwork for 5k employees. I'd assume they may have something in writing within 60 days. Look up the WARN act. It'll be a hybrid exit strategy, some will be done on a certain day, some will be offered a severance (if they have any money left to pay), and some will be offered to wrap up a project or train replacements and stay around longer, but only if you're willing or they decide you're worth it. Good luck, but time to look for a new canoe. This ship is heading for the iceberg, the throttle is stuck, and there's very few life rafts on board.

Pretty disgusting…if it wasn’t for this site associates would know nothing of what is going on…nothing is said out loud. I think the visits to India recently is to recruit “help”… cheaper help

@kmb+1oBm3T8z it was more 850-900 yesterday. There were two calls both over 400 people in each. Hearing there was at least one other call last week with 100+ given same ultimatum.

Managers don't know anything. They can't tell you what they don't know.

Upper management might have made the announcement before they worked out the details.

Their word on moving is worth about as much as a monopoly dollar. There is no guarantee that that they won't shutter the location they are sending these people to in the coming months. Then what? You uprooted to move to a place you didn't want to live and have diddly p-o to show for it.

The actions this week should be kicking everyone's flight instincts into overdrive. GTFO on your own terms, not theirs.

I still can’t fathom that they called 300 people into a conference call to basically lay them off… how heartless, cruel and impersonal can you get Fiserv?
