This is a step in the right direction, it should be more like $250,000

@q6 The mother snake may be dead, but she left a lot of baby snakes in the hole to help carry what she couldn't.

@ka your obsession with Indra after 7 years is unhealthy. Move on- she ceased being CEO in 2018.

@eg S&T should be properly independently audited starting with DPA dealings dating back to G-ayaytri’s leadership !

Now for the other side of the outsourcing coin…

US President Donald Trump's sudden and potentially fatal blow to the H-1B visa regime — by which mostly Indian techies and other high-skilled employees fulfilled their American dreams — may just be the first punch in a double blow. After the prohibitive $100,000 fee on H-1B visas, the next shock to fear for the Indian IT sector is a proposal for 25% tax on US firms' payments to foreign outsourcing companies.

@f4 let us start with the queen.. Indra. She had conflict of interest thru and thru with her husband having vested interests on the offshoring companies.

@f4 What’s the “dealing” about a $500k deposit in an Indian bank account. I just made the deal it took to write this post. It’s not complicated at all. Pretty straightforward.

How it goes down..Here’s my bank account number, should I see a deposit by EOW, we’ll get the deal done…DONE.

@eg I don’t believe svp or bps have the time to do this kind of dealings but I have seen some Indians do dealings and get into the company without proper authorization.

@dr Have you seen any audits at the SVP/VP levels? When was the last time you heard of an internal audit here. I’ve been here for 5 yrs and never even heard or see an audit team.

If you really want to see close to the paperwork, look over the SOWs. While it’s not going to slap you in the face. Why would a supplier, with no knowledge of the area, be selected with 15% cost over other suppliers that are specialized in that area??? Don’t need to be very smart to see what’s going on.

Hence, the reason why supplier relationships are kept at the SVP/VP levels.

I knew this would set off a fire storm. I don’t really deal with that so I have no comment. I would like to know if there is any real reorg, layoff, VRP, information out there. Hearing all lot but not from people that know. Just a bunch of speculation

@da I actually think the H1B fee increase is a good move. Too often, folks in the U.S. were not prioritized while companies chased “cheap labor.” I’ve personally seen questionable H1B cases — like fake consultations and jobs arranged just to get a visa.
If the talent is real and truly scarce, companies will still pay for it. This way, U.S. citizens at least get a fairer chance before the system gets abused.

@da If vendors are “openly saying it,” then there should be proof — emails, invoices, payment trails, or at least specific examples. Without that, it’s just hearsay.

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen — kickbacks are a risk in any large vendor ecosystem, especially when relationships are held at VP/SVP levels. But the right way to handle this is to document and report through proper compliance or audit channels.
Speculation without evidence only hurts everyone who is working hard to keep things transparent. If you (or anyone) have real proof, then please escalate it. Otherwise, let’s not paint all leadership or all vendors with the same brush.

@ce I would put the amount at $1 million per H1B. The suppliers are making tens of millions on outsourcing / H1B contracts. Make it really hurt.

Make In-source relevant again.

@ce Why do you think the Indian Leadership keeps their offshore India bank accounts??? Cognizant (Belagi), Infosys (Venkat), Tech M, IBM (Nan), Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Everest DX, etc. All with Indian Account Managers for PepsiCo can provide the kickbacks to our Indian Leadership.

Truth be told, many of the suppliers listed above no longer try to hide the kickbacks. It's just know someone is getting paid. Why do you think the relationships with suppliers are kept at the SVP/VP levels?

@ce Indians and organised corruption goes hand in hand. all were paying big bucks under the table. All the offshoring companies, IBM, TCS, Infosys and the corrupt Sap too must have paid multimillion as they are notorious for paying their way in.

@c7 You know what they say… if you can’t make sense of some moves in the business, best believe somebody slid some money under the table! Man, I had a feelin’ ‘bout that last year in the DPA / S&T ... somethin’ shady goin’ on in the shadows.

@bg clearly leaders at Pepsico have allowed cash draining of the company by way too may Indians, both in US and in India… someone getting cash under the table for deals bas for the company? With the speak-up process fundamentally broken… some have felt untouchable too long!

H1-B itself isn’t the issue; the problem is that PepsiCo sponsors relatively few H1-B visas (fewer than 50 per year) for its own employees but relies heavily on onsite contractors, most of whom are Indian H1-B holders. On top of that, PepsiCo is outsourcing a large portion of jobs to offshore teams in India.

Less than 50 H1Bs for this year but that won't stop departments from hiring more offshore contractors from WITCH/Tiger/Accenture
