@h0+1jjs3dzaj How do you know they are trying to eliminate sales and presales roles? There were a lot of high profile exits from the sales and presales area.

@k9+1jjs3dzaj: US was offered 4 weeks pay for each year of service plus COBRA health benefit lump sum payment to cover from 1 April to December 31. We were also paid out for accrued unused PTO but not personal days (use them or lose them). Hope that helps.

Is there someone here that received a buyout offer last year and can remind us of what they are actually offering?

The did not announce leadership buyouts but some NA sales leaders recently left to work for competitors or partners. That's pre-emptively because they probably got a friendly political heads-up. I agree with the post below that CK is looking to get rid of as many sales positions as possible. JG's appointment to effectively lead the sales organization with no sales background confirms it. And the creation of new extended board.

Members of the Extended Board: Ada Agrait (Chief Marketing Officer), Michael Ameling (General Manager, Business Technology Platform), Sebastian Behrendt (Head of Global Finance), Jan Gilg (Chief Revenue Officer, Americas & Global Business Suite), Philipp Herzig (Chief Technology Officer), Thomas Pfiester (Head of Global Customer Engagement), Emmanuel Raptopoulos (Chief Revenue Officer, APAC/EMEA/MEE), TBA (General Manager, Business Suite), Monika Schaller (Chief Communications Officer)

When did SAP announce leadership buyouts?

SAP Management is almost filled with CK buddies and his close relations ship with SAP peers in Waldorf. Now a days he does not care what is happening in NA or APJ . They were running the show of having NA guys at one or two key posts in the past and it is no more now. CK is thinking that Waldorf may have all managers and run the show with more jobs outsourced to India by setting up new facility. They are in the process of getting rid of Presales and sales and run the show by same one guy have to do all rounder job. CK team thinks that SAP is pushing cloud and we donot need sales people to sell the cloud solution like traditional way. By pushing SAP OP extended maintenance to 2030 and renaming the Data sphere as BDC shows clear picture that rise with SAP and Grow with SAP is not helping that much to move the big customers away from SAP OP. God know what happens this year and next year. What I saw is that SAP is going with what is marketing trend than what is going to help customers . They are not investing in R&D to develop the best solutions for customers than what thinking that this solution may help with out getting customer feed back or 360 degree analysis . They are simply moving functionality of one product into another and rename the product and try to sell it. Customers are so frustrated with this and it may be soon this strategy may backfire SAP

When you see leaders chopping and changing roles so fast, you know something bad is about to happen. The question is, are you guys prepared for "thelayoff"?

The one thing Ada is good at is her transparency, a few months ago she did mention to everyone in M&S she was running for global cmo apart from that nothing new

New CMO. A JW hire and disciple but weaker and less professional. Her next strategic decision will be her first. Completely controlled by CK.

Very odd choice to head Sales with no prior experience. Any idea if he is going to re-org that sales division?

JG is part of CK’s New Old Boys network. SAP needed proven effectiveness in that role. Risky to pick someone with just general purpose executive leadership talent.

With respect to Gilg -- odd to select a product person to head sales. Has he ever been in sales? Not saying that engineers can't be sales people, just doesn't look like he has ever led a sales org.

Let's hope that Ada only lasts a few months, Not a leader. That is indicated by the people that she has hired who are driving all the marketing talent out of the company.
