Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Employee stock purchase

Glad to see BD has finally allowed an employee stock purchase program. I was a J&J employee for about 10 years and purchased stock. It was a nice incentive. Held it for years and made a nice profit rolling dividend long after I left. With the current price of BD stock buy low. It has to go up sometime. Will you be buying?

One thing that’s not up for debate or interpretation is that this is in the COMPANY’S best interest, not the employees. BD under TP has shown time and time again that those 2 things do not go hand in hand. The “BD Way” is that employees are absolutely expendable.

@k5 not sure what packet you're reading but mine says "Shares purchased are yours to own (and can not be forfeited). You can keep them ... you can sell them, subject to plan holding periods." I can't find anything on what the holding requirement are though.

I think we can all agree Tom is dragging all businesses through the mud.

@k1 the packet sent to everyone's home stated, once you receive the stock it is yours to sell or trade but are held to normal blackout dates all BD is held to.

I'll just ignore the swipe at Bard as it was BD that came in and poisoned the Bard business.

@ap nothing I've read says that you can sell the stock as soon as you get it. That makes absolutely no sense for the company. You sound a bard employee I'll give you that - non sensible

@d0 and now we have BD Excellence to fix BD 2025. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic after hitting the iceberg.

Just look at BDX performance over the past 5 years with a relatively young CEO who won’t leave unless dragged out kicking and screaming. If you can make an argument that now for some reason the stock will start a lasting upward trend, I’m all ears. Remember all the hoopla around BD2025!!!!! It’s now 2026…. lol.

No way! Not a chance in H*ll I’m buying anymore BD stock. What a joke even offering it to us with the way the stock price has been flat for year and years

I'm looking forward to it. We had this with Bard and I made some awesome money but the stock was also doing well.

Even with the cr-p stock, I'm still doing this BD because it's an automatic 15% profit. You get the stock at the lowest price between start and end of 6mo time frame plus an additional 15% discount.

Only reason i won't participate is depending if there is any hold requirement after purchase. So far haven't seen a requirement to hold it and so far they've said once you recieve the stock you can sell it.

Yeh I’ve been with bd over 30 years never a purchase plan u know why? Cause the company was doing well now that the company is sinking thanks to TP and the stock is tanking they want us employees to save this calamity yeh ill take my money and put it somewhere else more profitable.. my money manager told me BD stock is no good get rid of yet and certainly don’t buy any..
