If the company’s a lost cause, do too is a union at said company.

Unions will just push Charlie into further offshoring, H1B, Automation, and AI spending. If you are a teller you will be replaced by "Fargo" and/or a smartphone. The next versions of AI will replace managers.
I believe that efforts to unionize IMO are misguided.

Newsflash
Union members get layoff notices too. Just ask the GM workers that were on strike. At one time in history unions served a very valuable purpose. Those days are long gone.

I see the union troll is here again. Selling the trash that unions bring to a group.

Let's see what the contract negotiations turn out. That'll be interesting thing. Are they going to ask for $30/hr? Free benefits? 8 mandatory breaks?

All they need to do is unionize enough branches fast enough and it'll be too late for simple branch closing to stop it. It would put the company in a very precarious position legally. One branch, probably easy to justify closure, but a bunch that just happened to have unionize just prior? Lawsuit city, labor board issues, regulator issues etc.

I'm not pro union in any way, but the execs clearly see it as a risk or they wouldn't be spending millions to fight it.

@sui+1qbo5Gj What are the consequences you're thinking of? They walk out, refuse to work? Makes it easier to cut head count. Close that branch because its under-performing, offer employees option to work at another branch 3 cities over that needs staffing, they don't, jobs abandoned..........profit!?

Imagine that, being total d!cks to your employees, intentionally and incessantly, actually has consequences. Who knew. Well, pretty much every human being outside Hudson Yards, I guess.

Shart is in real trouble. He wants to be known as a "turn around CEO". NOT the guy that Fs up leadership so badly that the employees unionize. This incompetent fool needs to go before it truly is to late to save this company.
