Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

So much hypocrisy

So we were told to RTO to:

  • collaborate more in person
  • support local businesses

Yet, WF is offshoring every possible job.

So, how are people in India and Phillipines achieving the goals above? (Guess U.S. workers need to move oversees to collaborate in person?)

And leadership wonders why we don't trust or respect them.

It never was about collaboration or helping local businesses.

It's ALL about the wealthy elites preserving their investment in commercial real estate.

p.s. All of our mgt/leadership are working remotely this entire week.

Fintechs often don't waste money on useless admin buildings, so yes, they are in prime position to eat our lunch.

Don’t worry. Fintechs that pay 4.5% on savings accounts will out us all out of building in three years.

You are 100% correct! Collaborating and helping were false narratives in RTO. The real goal is to reduce the perceived bloated headcount that WF feels is an impediment to its corporate bottom line. Offshoring is just another method to meet the goal of improving the bottom line. Shedding U.S. jobs to Third World work places helps by eliminating the high costs associated with the U.S. workforce.

It is all for the benefit of the shareholders.

I'm not mad that a few managed to avoid getting herded into the cattle cars.

Yes, they have cricket teams and holiday dinners. But let’s keep it real. They also are given budgets for those team dinners. You get that on your team? Likely not unless you’re traveling.

And the only collaboration going on is figuring out how they can take more US jobs and higher level roles.

That's a terrible angle. You should be more upset about some of the remote exceptions and managers in non hub locations.

the folks in India and Philippines are all crammed into offices and doing a lot more collaboration than we are. they get team outings, holiday parties, group sports, all kinds of things. We're lucky to get free coffee.

FRTO and FHY. It's time for new leadership, these NYC hacks have failed in every possible way. All they can do is fire people, outsource, contract, and waste all our hard earned profits on wasteful BS and enriching themselves.
