Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Do you ever feel like you're treated like you are 12 years old?

I'm a grown, responsible adult. I got vaccinated and I followed the science. Now, these azzholes at CDC etc are saying, two months after saying those vaccinated don't have to wear masks, that we should wear masks again indoors. That's why I got vaccinated, along with many others!

I've worked from home for years, because nobody wanted to pay for office space. It worked fine. Now, we're all 12 years old again and have to go back to the office so we can collaborate, lol.

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? I am. I pay my bills and act like an adult, and this company and Fauci want to control us and micromanage us like we're 12. It's no wonder so many people are angry anymore! It's time for a revolution.

The CDC was thinking that if everyone saw the benefits of getting the vaccine, meaning getting some normal life back, that more people would sign up.

They did not.

And as we learn more about the Delta variant, remember this is a "novel" coronavirus, this are going the wrong way again.

So don't blame the CDC, it's the people who won't get the shot that are the issue now.

We're the greatest country in the world, but it appears we don't teach high school biology anymore.

Let's hope that as the virus spreads and mutates into new variants that it does'nt get stronger.

Please wear your mask, get your shots, and be polite to others who disagree with you.

I find your "cancel culture is bad - this is how I participate in cancel culture" post laughable. Some form of boycotting, shunning, ostracizing, excommunicating, banishing, etc. have been a part of every society since humans first started creating them. "Cancel culture" is just another buzz word to make people and companies feel justified for their anti-social behavior.

You seem to be blissfully unaware that no group of human beings has ever embodied "good for me, not for thee" like the American left. Leftists run most large corporations in the US, but they are hypocrites that like some good crony capitalism for themselves...but only for themselves. It's a little bit like how Albert Gore Jr. rails against people buying cars or big houses because it's going to end the world with global warming...while he lives in multiple GIANT mansions, is flown around in private jets, is driven around in armored SUVs and limos, and has a carbon footprint bigger than Godzilla. "Ride your bike to work pleeb, us important people have a plane to catch". That's how these people operate. He's not unique, most leftists are similarly hypocritical, especially in big business. Almost every major corporation in America is run by liberals. They say they are liberal, they give money to liberal politicians, they vote liberal, and they donate to liberal causes. Other than that you're right, they are dyed in the wool right wingers.

@oge Fine. Then mask up for flu too. Coronavirus is not going away. We need to learn to live with it. If you lost your job and livelihood you’d be singing a different tune too.

The delta case fatality rate is reported to be about 0.2%. If the people who put out that stat are off by a factor of 5, we’re at 1%. And we’re going to start putting restrictions on people again? People aren’t gonna take this $H!T anymore.

If you don't know what qualifies as racist and what doesn't, there is a much bigger issue - with your education. Its pretty clear what is and is not racist.

“Cancel culture doesn’t exist.”

LOL! That statement is pretty much on par with “the earth is flat.” I’m not sure why I bothered to read further, because it’s hard to take anything else seriously after someone says that.

Amazing how people who claim to be woke can be sound asleep to reality.

Youre confusing American capitalism with global capitalism. One is for free markets, the other is for raw profit. Cancel culture doesn't exist. Cancel culture is capitalism as well. Flexing your buying power or possible buying power to steer things one way or the other. Those companies are recognizing who actually buys their products and adjusting as they need to.
There wasnt censoring of conservative voices either. Those are private businesses and if you shouted vaccine misinformation or racist stuff, youd be fired and thrown out. Same goes for those companies. Its their platform. And when those right leaning sites pop up they can allow what they want to, but even then they are also kicking people off the platform for racism or threats of violence. Almost as if there shouldn't be a platform for that stuff. But if they want to launch their own, they can...because capitalism.

Nike's base is not HALF people who didn't like Kapernick, and HALF that didn't. More like 80/20. MLB, NFL, NBA can do as they please because they are businesses as well, and make their own choices. They can choose to support whatever causes they want. Don't forget it was a right leaning government that passed Citizens United which basically gives those companies the ability to influence government more than they had been able to before.

PS - you saying you're not buying Nike due to that reason is a perfect example of capitalism, or cancel culture as you call it. You're using your buying power and standing for what you believe in. If others don't agree, that's their right.

@cfq, have you not noticed that the corporate establishment, including WFC, is fully engaged in the cancel culture hysteria? Probably not, if you believe that silencing right-leaning thought is justified, then you don’t see it as cancel culture. Instead it’s a righteous movement to the left. That’s not pure, raw capitalism. True capitalists would stay away from political causes and let the free market dictate commerce. Instead, they’re active participants in the social justice war, and the result is a growing parallel economy. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube start censoring conservative voices - Parler and Rumble start alternative platforms. Amazon Web Services cancels Parler - SkySilk comes to the rescue. Google starts steering search results to the left - Duck Duck Go and other search engines pick up steam. Media giants drop a popular bio-pic showing Clarence Thomas in a position light, cancel Gina Carano, and refuse conservative or patriotic stories - Daily Wire starts offering entertainment. Stripe, Square, and PayPal, pull away from right-leaning businesses - along comes AlignPay. The list goes on and on. One thing I’ve done personally is refuse to buy anything with a Nike label on it after they started celebrating that clown Kapernak. Why would any enterprise deliberately alienate half its customer base? And MLB, NFL, NBA and others turn SJW and their TV ratings and merchandise sales tank! Meanwhile NASCAR picks up speed. These are not examples of pure, raw capitalism. It’s social activism. As far as I and others are concerned, they and their leftist CEOs and BODs can go sell crazy somewhere else.

LOL at you for thinking WF or most other companies are run by left leaning people. There are some, sure. But the majority are pure, raw capitalists. They go where the money or market opportunities are. This is clearly evident at the multiple companies pushing their way into developing markets around the world. This is done purely to exploit those people and to keep the ouroboros of capitalism from eating its own tail.

The United States is on the eve of failure. We are at an inflection point. China and Russia are now colluding to take down the United States. China is developing more labs to reverse engineer virus variants...aka the mustard gas of the 21st century.

Our corporations are run by left wing lunatics. I am over it.

Remember the good old days of “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”? Now it's just "I don't feel like getting vaccinated because (insert one of four or five excuses). After delta, we have the Colombian and Brazilian strains starting to hit. Y'all will be vaccinated soon enough, just not at a place and time of your choosing.

As for Fauci, he's a scientist. They collect data, analyse data the draw conclusions based on the analysis. The data changes and so does the analysis. I get that folks like to hurl childish insults and have someone to demonize in the press but blaming him seems pretty ridiculous given what's going on.

Blame Delta and its breakthrough infections, or the other variants. Due to not enough people getting vaccinated chances of mutation are high. Fauci didnt even need to be mentioned...and it sounds like you are getting your info from propaganda news sites like Fox/Newsmax/OAN.

@evb+1c3YA2oT
It has not been proven yet and the fact you think its "truth" even before its been fully investigated points to the same issue above. Turn off the propaganda.

@zsi+1c3YA2oT
Deaths were around 500 daily yesterday and the most of those are unvaccinated people. This is why they want to vaccinate those people. Why cause 500 deaths a day due to stupidity?

@jru+1c3YA2oT
You walked in with your infant to a doctors office and said you were unvaccinated. The doctor did his duty as a member of the medical and scientific community and told you to get vaccinated so you don't pass it on to your child or anyone else in your (presumably) unvaccinated family, and you think something is "off"? Yep, its your way of thinking that is off. You have a child. You should have been one of the first ones in line to get the shot.

That's a nice narrative, but the CDCs own stats show a massive drop in 'COVID related' deaths. 4000/week about 3 months ago, 200 in the most recent week. What's interesting is that the more improvement we see in this area, the more shrill the demands to get jabbed become and the more people push the "it's getting worse" narrative. But we know it's not.

I just had a peds visit with my infant; the doctor breezed through anything g regarding my kid but as he walked out the door asked if we (husband and I) were vaxed and went into a 15 min lecture on the horrors and why we should. Made me very uneasy/ why was this unrelated topic so impoetinant he was interrupted twice by staff and he continued? Feels like they want a certain outcome. Idk. Seems off.

OP - If you follow the science, then listen to the CDC. Delta is highly transmissible, even by those who are vaccinated. The only as-----s right now are those who can, but won't, get vaccinated - they are dragging this out and making it more dangerous and deadly than what had to be. Delta is likely not the last of the serious COVID variants... more mutations are coming and some will be worse. Buck up!
